Moscow tower takes a hit from a drone

The move comes amid an overnight strike on the city's 'Hollywood' district when an elite high-rise tower in Mosfilmovskaya Street was hit and damaged by a Ukrainian drone.

The attack on the high-rise - rumoured to be home to key figures in Russia's SVR foreign intelligence service - was by an unmanned plane which evaded sophisticated air defences installations in the city.

I don't like to see intentional hits on housing from either side though surely in some cases there are legit military targets sometimes in housing.

The trouble with that is that it's hard to know when that is really the truth or not.

Sometimes claims are made that hits happened because of defensive redirecting.
Also hard to know when that's the truth or not.

Ask yourself what Thailand would have done had Cambodia sent a drone at a Bangkok high rise apartment during their recent kerfuffle.

Update.

The drone that hit the Moscow high rise was headed towards a nearby high value military target but shot down and deflected.

Makes sense as it is not Ukraine policy to target civilian housing.
