Long rate limit waits (4+ hours) lately, including on PMs

Featured Replies

Since today(May 6) I have been getting extremely long rate limits ,up to 4+ hours even when trying to send a simple PM . I’ve been a member since 2011 and have never experienced waits this long before. Is anyone else getting hit with these long timers recently?

I got a notification "You've chosen to ignore content by blank. Options"

Can anyone else (besides the members I have on ignore) comment on this? I’ve been a member since 2011 and have never had these long 4+ hour rate limits before (including on simple PMs). Is this happening to others recently?

I got a lot of these messages below yesterday, making it impossible to post or send a PM.

Yes happened to me too... I was starting to get a bit paranoid 🤪

Me too,

and the notifications system time stamps was all messed up. Software or Admin error of some sort.

I thought it was a new feature to stop arguments.

Dang. I thought it was just me.

Gotta admit. The quality of my day was better for it.

I'd add that I've also recently gotten locked out by Cloudflare for days at a time. Again, with no quality of life reduction.

Thanks guys !

Obviously trying to limit the idiots that are posting nonsense every day all day long. Good idea.

Obviously trying to limit

Obviously a software glitch as it effected everyone not just the 'idiots'

also its not in the forum owners interest to limit responses as even the 'idiots' response creates content which then leads to revenue.... IMHO

Being one of the posters in question, i see why you have that position. Limit everyone's posting to a few a day and the vitriol will mostly vanish.

You expect AN to keep a list of “idiots“ that need to be limited? Everybody gets the same restrictions is the only answerl

Without posts the forum vanishes..I am against posting restrictions for everyone,

the moderators are tasked with removing the 'idiots' posts, restrictions are not the answer.
