I do not think the forum is just declining. I think it has already undergone a kind of filtering process.

Back in the Vietnam war Aussies would not shower and eat local Vietcong food prior to going on ops. So that the VC and their dogs found it more difficult to locate them.

True, most start changing the body chemistry in their 40's. Most people keep the same habits throughout their adult lives, unless they really need a change and can make them. If you take good care of yourself through the years, you'll know what to do when you get older.Using the same cologne can smell different years later on the same person.
