Project Sledgehammer: The Boom is Coming Down on Iran

Christian warrior Hegseth has addressed this. Eyes from the sky see everything. He knows what is being rebuilt, what is being cleared.

At the same time, US weaponry is either being restocked or, in the case of hypersonic missiles, being moved into place for the first time.

Trump also needed to give diplomacy a chance to work, but the Iranians refused to settle this peacefully.

So how come the Yanks can't send minesweepers into the Gulf, yet can move Hypersonic missiles but not clear the mines ? tell us great one.

When I was a kid, we had several mean aunties in the family. Nothing changed their behavior except applying pain.

Long pleading conversations, appeals to their Christian nature, talking about feelings - it all failed to alter behavior. Interestingly, only some of the men were willing to apply pain and get to live in relative harmony. Others weren't up to it, and inevitably paid the price.

The Iranians are like these women, and I believe Trump knows it. Pain is the only thing that will change their behavior, and Trump is the type of man willing to apply pain.

Prediction: devastation of Iran's infrastructure with multiple waves of conventional aircraft.

Your source there is widely considered a leading institutional voice for the MAGA movement. Pure propaganda, typical MAGA nonsense. "But it's true if you believe it"- George Costanza.

Marco Rubio the next President, that got me laughing hard. After 4 years of this c**p administration and the GOP it'll be back to 8 years of people who actually care about the American people.

Two days ago as inflation hits a three year high, Trump: “I don't think about Americans' financial situation".

Bye bye numbnuts. Gonna neuter you in November kick you down the road in 2028.

"The Jewry" How national socialist LOL.

Sure, keep your Endlosung dream alive. Tougher guys than you tried, not that Germans are particularly tough, except with women, children and old people.

I always wondered about the psychological background of jew haters, other than envy and fear, sort of like the fear that would have been shown by a serf to his Lord....

My good friends,

I have returned from Tehran bringing with me an agreement signed by the Iranian government itself. I have spoken directly and at length with their leaders, and I believe that for the first time in many years there is a genuine desire to settle differences not by conflict, but by reason.

The questions which have troubled the world so greatly these past months — the nuclear facilities, the enrichment programme, the missiles, the inspections — have all been discussed in an atmosphere of frankness and mutual understanding.

I know there are those who remain uneasy. There always are. Yet I would ask them to consider the alternative — another catastrophic conflict in the Middle East, another generation condemned to fear and sacrifice. If such a calamity can be avoided by patient diplomacy, then surely that path must be tried.

The Iranian government has assured me that its nuclear ambitions are peaceful and limited. They have given guarantees, solemn guarantees, that no weapon shall emerge from these programmes and that international observers shall be granted their proper access.

Standing upon the airfield before my departure, I was handed this document bearing the signatures of both governments. It signifies not merely an arrangement between states, but, I hope, the beginning of a wider understanding between peoples long divided by suspicion and hostility.

I believe it is peace for our time.

Let us therefore go home tonight with lighter hearts, and with gratitude that reason has prevailed over the terrible machinery of war.

RE: Iran's surviving missile sites Nothing Is Easy -- AI Gemini:

High Survivability of Underground Facilities: Roughly 90% of Iran's underground missile storage and launch facilities are again partially or fully operational. Many of these are buried deep in mountainous terrain, making them resistant to conventional bunker-buster bombs.

Rapid Rehabilitation: Iran has shown the capability to quickly dig out and repair "corked" (buried) missile launchers, bringing them back into service shortly after strikes.

Use of Decoys and Mobility: The use of dummy sites and, in some cases, mobile launchers within hardened, underground facilities allows Iran to hide, move, and launch missiles, making it difficult for U.S. and Israeli intelligence to confirm the destruction of all targets.

Absolutely --2 weeks in Turkey around 1990 is the closest I have ever been.

But I would have let it slide except for your comment that knowing where the missile sites are makes them 'easier' to destroy. If they were easier to destroy they probably already would have been.

Arguably it’s closer to the Vietnam model updated for the drone and information age: make intervention so costly, messy and politically corrosive that even a superpower starts wondering whether it’s worth it.

Arguably it might be politically impossible to re-start this not-war for Trump politically, even if he said publicly, that this would be a "second round" of 60 days.

29 billion US dollars and counting (this number the Pentagon had to admit to grudgingly is obviously, ridicously downscaled from the truth), gas prices on the pump exploding.

All the Iranians need to do is play for a tiny bit more time, this being weeks, not even months or years.

The war effort is going quite well. The meeting with Xi was beneficial beyond belief and he has acknowledged he will step aside as Trump wraps things up. Now, the only question is when will the bombs drop.

Absolutely it did. Review this White House summary. The key item is that Xi agrees that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon. That speaks volumes and basically supports whatever Trump wants to do to implement that goal.

Trump says 20-year nuclear programme suspension by Iran would be enough

US President Donald Trump has said he would accept a 20-year suspension by Iran of its nuclear programme, in what appears to be confirmation of a shift in position away from a demand for a total end to it. (my italics)

Trump said it had to be a "real 20 years". Previously he has called on Iran to permanently cease enriching uranium - a stage in making a weapon - and to be prevented from ever acquiring nuclear weapons.

But he also said his patience with Iran was running out, with no sign of a breakthrough in talks.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgkpnnen5dzo

Also from the official Press release:

President Xi also made clear China’s opposition to the militarization of the Strait

NB So of those present at the US-China Beijing meeting, only one party has currently militarized the Persian Gulf.
