New WISE Announcement re Conditions

WISE ANNOUNCEMENT

A lot of us would have recently received an email and notification via their App regarding new pending changes to their Thailand operations.

WISE (Thailand)...

Could one of you bright sparks explain or summarise for me (as if explaining to an eight year old)

exactly what you think these new changes are, or will be? (I know they said more information will be forthcoming).

I do understand that some more documents may be required from us in the future, but am most interested in whether they will be able to transfer Thai baht OUT of here ,converted to another currency (AUD, USD, HKD etc) easily and simply.

I think DeeMoney is about the only outfit, outside of banks that can faily easily do this ???

I have occasions now and then to send HKD and AUD out but can only currently do this (excluding wire trf by BBL) using DeeMoney or sending AUD from my Aust bank to WISE, converting and sending (in the case of HKD).

Would be great if WISE can perform the outward Thai baht to an overseas bank ( no not Ethiopia!) in whatever currency.....much as is possible using DeeMoney.

Any advice enlightenment, and comments are most welcome..

Thanks Charlie, and where is the "Banking Section" please ?

Can you give a direct link?

First question would be at what address do Wise have your account registered?

If Thailand then the answers may be different to if elsewhere.

Another option I came across recently for transferring money out of Thailand was TrueMoney (Advanced Account).

Yes, they've added that a while ago. I haven't used it myself yet, I'd be interested to see a report from someone who did.

Yes account registered with WISE is Thailand.

I'll look up TrueMoney.....as in the mobile phone network provider?

Thanks.

That is certainly one of the claimed benefits of these changes to Thai registered accounts.

This kind of transaction (AUD to HKD) will be adversely affected the way I understand it, as the AUD will be converted to THB then THB to HKD so two conversion fees.

That's where it started out.

Thanks for your comments and insights.

Currently, if I need HKD I just trf AUD to my Wise account, then trf out HKD (at Wise exchange rate which is usually good) to my HSBC account.

No THB involved so I'll just keep doing that......I hope !!!
