Yah, exactly. As VDH said, they’re furious that society still rewards people who get useful degrees, build things, solve real problems, and create wealth.Instead of taking any personal responsibility for choosing grievance studies, gender theory, or other low value degrees with zero market demand,( I call it the SJW approach) they’d rather burn everything down and blame Trump, systemic racism, capitalism, or whatever the current boogeyman is.

I have some empathy for people who have been scammed into bad decisions. Like paying $250,000 and 6 years of their life for a Women's Studies degree.

It must really cheez them off to pay the plumber with no degree that "just" fixes their toilet a lot more than they make with a PhD after their name.

Edit: A perfect example is the lady making the YouTube rounds that lost her NGO job that paid her $275K a year when USAID money dried up. Now she's interviewing for jobs that pay $19 an hour, and still not getting hired.

I'm a late 1960's era "extreme liberal". At that time, being an extreme liberal meant beign against the Viet Nam war, believing there was room in society for gays and lesbians to live out of the closet. It meant better treatment for migrant farm workers, which at that time was pretty bad. It meant being sympathetic to the civil rights movement...that kind of thing.

Yesterday's extreme liberals and Reagan-era extreme conservatives are 2026's centrists and make up the majority of the population, but we're split in the two parties. We've both lost our voice to the extreme voices within our own parties. The centrist majority has been fragmented and polarized across the two-party divide which is dominated by extremes. It is truly the system that is letting us down.

The reason this keeps coming up is simple ,because the far left keeps repeating the same failed policies and radical ideas.As The Atlantic itself warned in 2018, this is the third time in a century the left has taken over the Dem's agenda.
