OP has continually said he visits Thailand twice a year with his wife. His wife is Thai also. And he, seriously doesn't know how much they will need for a 2 week holiday. Seriously? No accommodation

Or his wife can pay for everything with her $65/hour wage. Did you hear that!?!? SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS……per hour!!!!! His wife makes $65 dollars per hour. One hour. Sixty five Australian Dollars.

Has anyone on this site ever been asked to show 20K when entering Thailand?

I certainly haven't. The way I see it is that it is a tool immigration can activate to send 'undesirables' packing, i.e. those who are milking the system through indefinite visa runs and the like.

Now I travel again for 2 weeks to Thailand, tell me how much I need for 2 weeks of travel? I do not have to pay for any accommodation, but I guess I have to chip in for some food or travel expenses. Now, having a Thai wife means small gifts on arrival and some meals sometimes. I am a wine drinker, but wine is very expensive, so I drink Chang or Singha. I won't be living in a tourist area, so, Oh, I forgot, I am not keen on Thai food, so I will be cooking Farang food. Any ideas? By the way, the airfares are paid.

You travel again, so you should know.

Wrong, I lived in Thailand for many years and travel to Thailand twice a year

Are you a Bot or just trying to determine if your spending more or less than people who are living long term in Thailand and Not Tourist?

Inflation hasn't risen that much over 6 months since your supposed last visit. We are not here as accountant, financial advisors or travel agents to book and give you a lump price.

Just live the way you do normally but seeing as your wife is Thai keep her away from gold shops and the Soi Buakhaow market.

You must show proof of funds of 20,000 Baht upon entry... this amount should be sufficient for 2 weeks in LOS........

That just depends on your standard of living.
