As far as I know, Trump's long term goal is still to pull the US out of wars in the Middle East forever. It's not that simple though because for one thing, he had to extricate from NATO ... and the US still has ties with Israel ... and Iran is/was a problem. Terrorist groups ... too many complexities. But that does appear to be his long-term vision.

He may not pull it off, but if he does, no more wars in the Middle East would be one of the greatest achievements of any president ever.
