Don't feel bad. You did a fantastic job. At least the cat died with a full stomach and in loving hands, far better than him dying in the rain and on a dirty street. He's also at peace now, no longer s

Thank you for showing him compassion, love, and caring during his last hours in this plane of existence. That means a lot. You're good people! 💗

I only wish they had this option for people! No more suffering. Cats are beautiful, loving, mysterious and are not 'owned' by any of us.

What option?

There was or still is a poster with that exact username.

Exactly! I thought this was some sad news about a fellow poster. I'm an animal lover, but humans take priority above cats in my world.....

I'm sorry for the inconvenience of clicking only to discover that the post is about a cat, and then feeling the need to read it and write a reply to complain about it. That's hard work. You could have just clicked away instead of complaining. It would have been easier for you.

If it is any consolation, soon after I posted, but outside the editing time limit, I asked to have the title changed to include (the cat) in brackets after the name. It has not been edited yet. I probably would have received more attention if that had been included, so that no one thought it was about humans, which was never my intention.

Humans don't always take priority over cats. Cats are innocent victims. Humans can be positively evil by choice. For example, who takes priority in this case: A human who tortures animals, or an innocent cat? The cat's life is worth more in every case.

Edit: the title has been edited to include (the cat).

So true, cats actually own us. They can get away with anything. One little meow and all is forgiven.

He's referring to the option of euthanasia for humans.

They have that in Canada, yes? And unlike a cat, a human has free will and can do it to themselves at any time.

"That" is legal in 11 countries, with assisted "that" in others.

You make it seem like you can just wake up one day and decide to DIY. It's not as easy as you might think. Fear of death is hard to overcome and often results in catastrophic failures, leaving people in a worse state. Approximartely 90% of DIY attempts are unsuccessful.

Except that you have to decide to do it whether you do it or someone else does.

No sure what percent of attempts are honest attempts.

This was so sad... My girlfriend put a TikTok video up today showing our final goodbyes before putting the little guy to rest.

She put a caption on the video (translated from Thai:

"How is Boonmee there? Have you eaten delicious food? Has anyone bullied you? Mummy misses you!"

(Note: these videos come out too big for a computer monitor. You can right-click the video and choose "picture in picture" to get a smaller size, which you can adjust).

And a farewell TikTok video at the moment his tiny little heart stops beating... as he passes into the next world.

Text on video translated:

"Travel back to Cat Planet safely. May the next world be kind to Boonmee. May Boonmee be born with more merit for longer. Apologies for not being able to live as long as desired."

and the video caption:

"May Boonmee return to Cat Planet safely and no longer suffer. If there is such a thing as the next life, may the world be kinder to Boonmee."

Thank you! I still keep second-guessing my decision and feel I could have done more.

Don't second-guess. A few months ago, I had to send my buddy to the happy campsite. He had cancer, and they operated and removed everything they thought. I had him for another 8 months, then they diagnosed that he was full of cancer.

There is no guarantee that cancer will be gone, and with all the other diseases, the chances are slimmer.

Just remember that you brought some enjoyment into his life and he yours.

RIP Boonmee

We watched over him closely at night and had a pet camera in his room. When I got up in the middle of the night, I would check in on him.

He did eat and drink a lot and was very good at covering his waste in the litter box. Makes me think he was brought up in a house. Maybe he had some good times when younger?

Why did he end up on the street? Was he discarded? Did he get lost?
