The Guardian (U.K. left wing newspaper) thinks politicians should keep their secrets.

I think “they work for us” so any communication should be available to the public (with the exception of national security and anything that could compromise ongoing trade negotiations).

Appreciate there may be complications with costs and admin but talking about general principles.

What is there to understand? Politicians are sh*ts the world over so should be held to account at every opportunity.

Before I worked for myself, I knew the company I worked for could monitor emails, internet use, etc. Politicians and civil servants (should) serve the populations they represent so anything work related should be available.
