For 73 years, Iran has dealt with American interference, starting with the 1953 coup. Before that came 28 years of British and Russian occupation and intervention with pressure and control. Iran’s distrust of foreign powers did not come from nowhere.

The Pahlavi family who ruled Iran since 1925, did not come from an ancient royal line. Reza Khan rose with British help, and his son’s rule was later restored and strengthened by Britain and the US.
