Why are these old people in jobs past 70?

Let´s just take the 2 last things of your ridiculous story!

1. Brain damage was already there. Don´t blame old people for that. Show some respect!
2. Just because they can beat you up at any given time, you boxing champ!

For someone like Donald J. Trump too old is beyond 5 y.o.

I'm glad that he punched you in the nose, twice, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Rather than hold it in, he showed you what was on his mind. Good for him!

You are lucky he didn't call you what you really are - “a f'ing C*NT!!!”

Way to go Scotty!!! 🤣😂🤣

,clap2it took a bit of time but it was well worth waiting for,clap2, a brilliant put down ,worthy of Churchill, or Oscar wilde, or Mark Twain. Cleverly slipped in to a totally unrelated thread

Ladyboys, monkeys a 78-year-old gent, what's next an 86 year-old grand mother.

What a hero you are

I really don't like to see older people 70 plus still working, it's one of my pet peeves and it means they have no life or lonely

As many of you know I have been doing boxing training lately in Australia, and quite enjoyed it until I was punched in the nose by the 78yo Scottish trainer

He turns up this morning to replace friendly Derrick which I later found out was his son

As soon as I entered the training hall I noticed a elderly man albeit fit looking standing up the front with "trainer" written on his singlet

I walked up to introduce myself and I immediately asked him his age

He said I'm Dericks father ( our normal trainer) and I'm 78yo

78 !!!! I said shocked

He looked at me and nodded with a big smile almost like he thought I was going to say you don't look 78 !

But I didn't !

I had a quiet whisper word in his ear

" you really shouldn't be working at your age old man " I whispered in his ear , "don't you think your too old , and in another 5 years or so........you won't be...

He looked back at me shocked and cut me off talking

Immediately he changed from being

nice to rude

" Get over there with the others " ,he said sternly pointing to the boxing group

I felt good that I had told him what was on my mind rather than hold it in

When our class started he picked me to demonstrate the right hand and punched me in the nose " Get your guard up Lassie he shouted before punching me in the nose in front of the whole class

The first hit to the nose was not too bad and my eyes watered and everyone was so nice except this horrible old man

Get ya guard up LASSIE !!

he kept saying as he demonstrated the left jab and punched me again in the nose and this time I felt it hurt

Some of the group were shocked , I immediately felt like I was going to cry and a woman in the group hugged me

She said it's not bleeding

Meanwhile this barbaric old man who kept calling me LASSIE , I said it's GEORGE not Lassie after a dog on TV, what does Lassie have to do with me the senile old man forgot my name !!!!

I left immediately and I won't be back ,my nose is hurt I can hardly breathe , and nearly called a ambulance.

Georgenta, sister, oh my, I am absolutely appalled.

You turn up to a boxing gym with fresh nail polish.

Walk straight up to the 78 year old trainer.

Inform him he is too old to be working.

Suggest he may not have many years left.

Whisper it directly into his ear.

Then somehow seem surprised when the relationship deteriorates.

Shocking behaviour from the old chap, innit.

The next thing you know he is demonstrating boxing at a boxing class.

Nobody could have ever predicted this outcome.

And calling you Lassie as well.

Frankly I think that is where he crossed the red line.

The repeated punches to the nose while demonstrating punches to the nose must have been especially upsetting to you, darl.

I am pleased the woman hugged you afterwards when you began whimpering.

That sort of emotional support is critical following a near fatal boxing demonstration incident.

The good news is there is a simple way to determine whether brain damage occurred.

Compare your future forum posts to your previous forum posts.

If there is no noticeable change then the doctors can probably rule it out.

I would however keep an eye on any repeated symptoms.

Crying.

Emotional distress.

Starting unusual surveys.

Asking strangers personal questions.

Compiling statistics nobody requested.

Those would all be worrying signs.

Most importantly, please do not let this discourage you from your own retirement plans.

You have spent years explaining that people over 70 should stop working immediately.

It would be a tragedy if, after all this, you ended up as an 80 year old floor mop consultant still collecting toothpaste data and counting dental clinics with the word Smile in the name.

Get well soon, girlfriend.

And remember.

If you attend a boxing gym again always wear clean underwear in case you have ann accident and if you insult the trainer, be mindful of the left hook coming your way, Lassie.

What did he expect, he was rude with his remarks to a fit old man who then demolished him in the ring.

It's sad you have no life , I have a life and it did happen sunshine .

Your an old unfit who drinks his life away , maybe I should whisper that in your ear

At least I'm doing or was doing boxing !!

I regularly do 10,000 steps a day and don't have grey hair like many

Some of them HAVE to be told they are old !

You need to ask yourself why you are constantly trying to point out that people you don't know are old, and have less time remaining then they already spent. You will be there soon enough, as it comes too quick.

You can do whatever you want to try and slow it down but it's coming.

Do you want younger men coming up to you telling you the same things?

You also still don't realize that any of the people you're talking to can outlive you.

You took a punch from an older man which should have shown you that some retain a lot of power and speed into their twilight years, and the next one you say this to might put you in the hospital or worse.

The best conversation you can have with anyone, especially a stranger, is one that makes them think you're an okay person, which a lot of your comments won't.

Georgette, sister, you are not really helping your case here, hun. Just because none of this ever happened does not mean it is not a good wind up you posted. Maybe you need to loosen up those G string panties a bit and book yourself in for a fresh manicure to help you relax.

You started a thread explaining how a 78 year old pensioner punched you in the nose twice, made you cry, causing you additional brain damage and nearly had you calling an ambulance.

Then you came back to boast about your fitness.

That is a difficult combination to sell, darl.

And why stop at 10,000 steps a day when you could mop up all of Pattaya before lunch?

I still love the idea that some random old bloke simply had to be told he was old.

Clearly he already knew that. The giveaway was probably him being 78.

Keep your guard up, Lassie. Besides, it’s much better to get some ladyboys balls across your nose than some old bloke’s boxing glove, innit.

Prolly it developed slowly over time from sniffing all of those toxic toilet cleaning chemicals on the daily. Each whiff permanently kills at least another 10,000 brain cells.

The second sentence from the last made the most sense.

Sounds like you are chock full of judgment, and none of us have any right to tell other people how to live their lives. Nobody likes an unsolicited opinion like that.

Georgenataliia, girl, I am beginning to think I have been doing this whole life thing completely wrong.

Meanwhile, you got it fully dialed in.

You get attacked by monkeys.

Fleeced by ladyboys.

You get punched in the face by a 78 year old boxing trainer.

People stare at you in your high viz.

People question your nail polish.

People sit at your private cafe table.

Foreigners simply won’t leave you alone.

Meanwhile I somehow manage to go through life without any of these problems.

Not one.

No monkey capers.

No ladyboy debacles.

No pensioner boxers flattening my nose in front of a class.

At some point we have to consider the possibility that you are the common denominator in a statistically significant number of unusual situations.

You are a living anomaly and the data is starting to become difficult to ignore, darl.

In fact, this may be the golden research opportunity you have been waiting for your whole life.

It sounds like he took as an insult that you told him he was too old to be training.

His decision to show you that he wasn’t seems to have been successful.

You have now learnt to keep your guard up.

A lassie is a girl in Scottish parlance. Nothing to do with the tv dog.

ROFL, he is still working as he can still show numpties how to box.

I'm a retired university professor, but I began teaching at age 15. I taught my first group class (It was a beginner skiing class at Belleayre Mountain, NY) and never looked back. I have been a teacher of one thing or another (from sports to academics) ever since. I'll be 80 in a few months, and I still teach Academic and Business English online. If I didn't need a work permit, I'd still be teaching sports, too.
The idea that one needs to stop working just because of some arbitrary chronological decision is absurd. I can still run up six flights of stairs without huffing and puffing, and my brain works just fine.

Can you give one good reason to stop enjoying my life and take up residence in the rocking chair on the porch?
