Worked from home for the last 6 years of my employment .. greatest thing in the world

all mandatory computor work was done by 9am and the rest of the time I had my cordless phone with me while I did renovation projects on the house, exercised and tended my gardens .. computer was fired up and just steps away when I needed to assist staff.

always had quality meals.. and never had to share the restroom with a bunch of slobs !

Working from home makes me happy.

Very happy.

But, NOT slaphappy.

I prefer working from home.

Social interaction is important for better mental health, loners can be weird, Aussie murderer was a loner, so yes working for home can cause depression and increase it

So true. The worst I had was working for major investment bank in Sydney. I couldn't believe what I was experiencing there. Another in Brisbane. People with chips on their shoulders.

Totally agree with wanting to travel alone. I met a new friend in my city who offered to drive me to bkk. No way... I prefer to sit on a bus alone and do my work. Listen to him going on and on for 4 to 5 hours. Nightmare...

Being alone with their own thoughts scares them. Insecure people need others to make them feel better. The best and worst advice you ever receive comes from your own thoughts. So if you control your own thoughts the outside world becomes your goldfield not a minefield.

The best part of COVID was moving to WFH. It was not depression at all. No commute and dealing with traffic. Which gave me more time in the day for personal things.

I disliked traveling with Co-workers. I avoid traveling with friends. I like keep my own time table and do my own thing.

Working makes me depressed, doesn't matter if it's at home or office. That's why I retired at 45.

Lots of loners in Thailand, most foreigners arrive without friends, they don't have family here. If they are weak, It's easy for them to get depressed.

The Brit/Oz murderer has mental health issues, I don't think most of the loner foreigners here have mental health issues.

I never get bored or depressed in Thailand. I speak Thai and there are lots of things to do. But I couldn't live on a 30,000 a month budget and sit in one area. A lot of farangs seem to do nothing in Thailand but complain about the Thais or western politics or drink beer in dive bars.
