Cafe Pitini closing on June 28

Featured Replies

I really liked Cafe Pitini....

I have eaten here loads of times, great food...

From what I understand, they do a pretty good business but it seems the Landlord is raising the rent so high that Cafe Pitini simply can't afford to pay the ever-increasing rent.....So they are closing..

I guess this was the same situation with Subway....

Well, Soi Bukow is sure in dire need of another massage shop...lol

I used to go to Pitini, good food, tip nazi waitresses were annoying though.

Im glad a business realises that unless they get a good deal on rent they won't make money and working purely to give money to the landlord

Obviously they are not good negotiaters

I probably could go see the landlord on their behalf when I arrive and negotiate the rent with him/ her

Of course I don't work for free

I always end up getting what I want , and I'm always nice and wear my yellow reflective safety vest .

.but as usual landlords are greedy

Yes, but the title of the video is "why are so many restaurants closing?"

It's not just rent. They probably take massive losses in low season and can't recuperate.

Pitini isn't what it was, in it's day it was the best for pretty good expat food, then Hungry Hippo and Chunky Monkey opened along with the Cheap Charlies and all the other places, so the truth is, it won't be just the rent but competition caused them to close

That dude doesn't need this restaurant and can only imagine how his health is going to be at 70 considering the mess he has created already.

How much is the rent 120,000 baht per month?

Are you sure 😄

I wonder if the greedy landlord will manage to rent it out

Personally I would prefer to have a steady long term tenant that months of waiting for a new one

When you retire, move to Thailand, will you rent out your Sydney apartment and be a greedy landlord?

BTW, where are you located, I remember you saying that you are in the gay area.

That would be near the Kings Cross fountain. 😚

It's likely he had a very old rent deal, been going for 15+ years, probably another bar going there we don't need, they ruined soi pothole

Is there not an alternative place with the same two assets?

Yes, lots on soi Buakhou.

I keep away from the many restaurants like cheap Charlie's, thin sausages and instant coffee

Seems for some here it's the best when it's the cheapest, but restaurants have overheads that need to be covered.

You like things cheap, remember when you almost went to the police because of your scam 30 baht 3M tape, yeah some people are really cheap

Well it will be a bit of lower levels of cholesterol as there is nothing more unhealthy to consume those UK-US type breakfasts full of fried stuff, fat, sugar, syrups, butter and so on. And I'm far from being a vegan, but sometimes all those greasy "sunday roasts" all over are just to much for keeping a healthy lifestyle and low cholesterol levels.

Making up things about me wanting to go to the police, doesn't really help your cause of being the resident cheap charlie on this forum. Proven by tens of topics you started.

How is Big C foodcourt these days? Still too expensive for a noodle soup?

Still doing the happy hours and chasing balloons every night?

Plus they are occupied by all those low class farang (or just farang in general) that you so detest and remind everyone about on an almost hourly basis. If it's not a Thai sausage (Sai Ua) , it's a low class sausage and most likely to start a fight with the egg and bacon.

From where do you hail please? Farang?

This is a shame. I first visited Cafe Pitini in August 2020 on my first visit to Pattaya. Clean, air conditioned, quiet, resaonably priced and food was OK. I like their salads which are huge. Never had any issues with staff (one at least a ladyboy). Landlord can likely extract more rent form a beer bar tenant. I last ate at Cafe Pitini in April this year.

And are you interested in the German sausage?.

I have had some beautiful Thai sausages

As usual, you have failed to grasp the gist of the conversation so please find someone else to annoy. I shall wait for the intended recipient to respond.

Well, bearing in mind we have been debating your inadequacies of providing suitable and adequate information regarding a program broadcast on UK channel 4 under another thread, I think it's pretty safe to assume I'm not Japanese, Thai, African or similar. Take a wild guess....

What are you on about, My best friends in Thailand are farangs.
