Again, the fire at the former synagogue has been reported in the U.K. and international press not because it did a lot of damage, but because it may be one in a string of attacks on Jews and Jewish sites. The fire didn't catch and was quickly extinguished by the London Fire Brigade, but under different circumstances, it could have been much worse.

Yes, a lot of Jewish people attain high levels in their chosen fields.

I was suggesting that the new buyers may have been trying to get the property at a cheaper price .

That does happen occasionally .

It could be a possibility .

I never knew an old timer (1st or 2nd gen) American Euro Jew in NYC who was offended by that. More of a begrudging pride. It was what it was. No different than all the other mob lingo that permeated NYC culture.

I never heard the phrase "Jewish lightning" though I find it mildly amusing as if such scams aren't done by many different ethnicities. I suppose it's dated.
