Didn’t Trump get elected partly because he said there would be no more wars and America was NOT going to act as the world’s policeman?

Or am I making that up?

Nah, he was elected because some thought he would help the economy in America.

But, Trump said that was solved and not a problem last week. Is he lying again? Bad boy!

Hence my use of the word “partly”?

México, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida are a real beach. Tough, those Texans, too.

I’m not sure what you are talking about tbh. I was replying to a post about Iran’s coastline.

Recent US intelligence assessments conclude that Iran can effectively shut down the Strait of Hormuz whenever it chooses,

Not exactly a eureka moment for the CIA is it? Everyone (except maybe Trump) knew that's exactly what Iran would do during a war.

Ah. When you said Southern coastline, I thought you meant this one.

You mean those who entered the US illegally?

I have a more fluid and nuanced view of people than defined in law. Many of those being deported have established families and careers over decades. Many others are just hard workers who send their earnings home and then follow them, only to return the next year to make more.

These are precisely the people that made and make America great--immigrants. Forget that narrow BS definition of the law is the law.

The long-timers deserve to be grandfathered in. The hard workers, esp those doing work no American wants to, should have mobile visas to come to work and then return home.

It's about treating people as people.

Have you ever known an "illegal" immigrant? I sure have--dependable, honest, conscientious. Ever employed one? I have, not only was satisfied with their work but enjoyed their company, stories about their life.

You're missing out on a lot of great people if your life is so strictly dependent upon "laws".

I have nothing against people being with their families. There are legal channels they can take. Many that were deported were criminals, and many were workers. If you want to be with a family member that's in the US legally, you do the same thing. You don't grandfather people who are illegally in the US. Many are good workers and just want to work, which is good, but do it legally. Americans are hiring illegal workers for greedy purposes. if they want them so bad, help them get in legally. I lived in Texas and knew quite a few, and had some work at my house.
