A lot of depression cases are permanent, some weathered for many years until this happens, and others live with their condition all their lives until they pass from natural causes. All depends on them and if they seek treatment, or don't and suffer from the symptoms.

I am not a forensic expert BUT could this statement also it indicate it was murder.

After all most people do it by standing on a chair and tying a rope to the beam above them or a doorway frame and kicking the chair away, I emphasise rope not a metal cord. A metal cord us usually used by a killer so it digs deep into the neck and severs the vital breathing canal. Plus is extremely hard for the victim to dislodge such a metal cord once pulled by murderer's strength from behind the victim. I would call this death an open case till they at least research his background. He may be a drug dealer victim from a deal gone wrong?

A metal cord can easily restrict blood flow and/or breathing, which can quickly deprive the brain of oxygen if placed correctly.

Lack of oxygen makes you pass out in 15 - 30 seconds. Not that unusual method really,
