Binnsy, I came here last october with EVA air, a good airline with very pleasant staff, every seat has a pop-up video screen with films or music and earphones, the food is various and ok, I would not hesitate to fly with them again,

I got a 3month non o immigrant visa from Hull to present to the immigration at BKK, no problems whatsoever at airport, and no problems since with Nong Khai Immigration,

BTW, i come from Thurston nr Bury ST Edmunds, i saw your wedding pics that Macb posted, hope all is going well for you,

Cheers, Lickey.

Binnsy, nobody travelling with a visa and a one-way ticket has ever reported a problem on arrival in Thailand. Make sure to write the visa number on the arrival card.

Without a visa, some people have had a problem upon departure at the airport of origin.

If you don't have a visa, the airline could refuse to board you, because one of the requirements for visa exempt stamp (30 days) is proof of onward travel within those 30 days. If you hold a visa, no problems whatsoever.

I was once questioned by Malaysia airline in Heathrow for not having an onward ticket, but they finally let me on

I purchased a ticket for Eva - £335 one way for 1st week of October. I'm planning on having my 12 month visa in place when I leave so I shouldn't have any problems.

Eca one way was cheaper than an indirect one-way - go figure!

before i had my O visa i made the mistake of turning up at the qatar checkin (heathrow ) and i was told that i could not fly into Bkk on a one way ticket, i felt such a prat for not checking this out before hand when i booked my travel agent didnt tell me anything and quite happly took my money, thankfully for me qatar sold me an onward ticket at heathrow for Bkk- Doha and charged me 150 pounds ,and told me that they would make it a refundable ticket so i could get my money back once i had got into Thailand and went to their office in Bkk they charged me 30 pounds adim fee and refunded the rest ,

I fly out tomorrow, EVA for £335 too.

Got my visa from Cardiff, it only took 2 days. Posted on a wednesday evening and it arrived back Friday morning.

Starting to get excited. My g/f and son are heading back with me.

<gets nervous>

I have a similar question so thought I'd post it here..

I have a non-imm "O" multi entry, expires 1st Nov 2007.

I've just booked a 12 month return ticket with Qatar, departingin a couple of weeks, and returning mid june (obviously well outside the 90 day entry validity, and also outside the visa expiry).

I'm planning to get a UK visa for my girlfriend, and return with her for 4-5 months before going back to t/L and making use of my original Qatar return. I'll renew my non-imm "O" while I'm back in the UK as well.

If she dosen't get the UK visa, I'll change the original return (£35 fee) and all sorted, but I don't want to change it even before I fly, and then have to changeit again if she does get the visa...

Anybody been here before me????

Thanks,

Steve
