hello,

i'm a Belgian citizen and married to a Thai, she lives with me here in Belgium.

Every year we go to our house in Chiangrai, 2 or 3 times, for 4 weeks everytime.

So everytime i did not needed a visa because i never stay more than 30 days at 1 time.

so this year we went for the third time and we wanted to visit Laos, when we were at the border crossing the Thai officer told me that, if i crossed the Thai/Lao border, i could'nt come back in Thailand because i came already 3 times in 1 year the Kindom :o .

Is there a limit for the number of times people come to Thailand, when they never stay longer than 30 days?

Thanks for any feedback.

The rule is that you cannot stay on exempt stamps (the 30 days you get at the border) for more then 90 days in any 6 months period counted form your first date of entry.

There is no limit on the number of stamps by the way, just the 90 days in 6 months period.

I don't know the exact dates and periods in your case but if in doubt, you could get a tourist visa in Vientiane.
