Violent crimes and murders happen all over the world. What leaves me stunned again and again, however, is how in some parts of Asia — for example in Thailand or the Philippines — people are killed over the most trivial and seemingly insignificant reasons.

There are countless cases where petty arguments or the slightest perceived insults escalate into deadly violence. The fact that a human life can be taken over such trivialities is simply horrifying. It probably has to do with the idea of “losing face,” or perhaps just with a deeply fragile ego.

Perhaps, but she didn’t kill him. The issue of promiscuity is no reason or excuse for killing.

And there is no evidence of promiscuity in this case anyway. Just an unsubstantiated claim from the alleged killer.

Teenagers having sex is nothing new and I wouldn’t necessarily describe that as sad, others may take a different view.

Killing each other, that indeed is a sad thing. Teenage years can be such fun and such an adventure. It’s sad when they turn violent.

It doesn't matter what there age is if they do the crime they should do the time.

Let me start by refreshing your memory by setting out your comment:

What you don’t seem to have realised, and possibly why your post garnered so many down votes, is that the boy claimed that he killed her because he suspected that she was cheating on him.

Intentionally or not, your post says that his assumption “might be right”.

If you can’t see the linkage as to how people will perceive that you are taking the boys side and insinuating that the girl was (wrongly) cheating on him and therefore in some ways justifies his actions, then I can’t really help you.

It does seem that that is how most people interpreted your post.
