American military cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point and the United States Air Force Academy visited Bangkok on 19 June 2025 for an educational seminar hosted by the US Embassy. The visit provided the cadets with first-hand exposure to the long-standing security partnership between Thailand and the United States, one of Washington’s oldest alliances in Asia.

During their visit, the cadets met senior leaders from the Royal Thai Army and the Royal Thai Air Force. They also toured military museums and spoke with both American and Thai alumni connected to the military institutions.

According to the US Embassy, the programme was designed to deepen the cadets’ understanding of how the US-Thai alliance contributes to the security and prosperity of citizens in both countries. The visit formed part of a broader effort to familiarise future military leaders with key international partnerships and regional security relationships.

Thailand and the United States have maintained diplomatic and military ties for more than 200 years. The relationship is regarded as one of the longest-standing bilateral partnerships that the United States maintains in the region.

The visit highlighted ongoing military-to-military engagement between the two countries and provided opportunities for exchanges with Thai defence leaders and military personnel. Discussions and activities focused on the history of cooperation between the allies and the role the partnership continues to play in regional stability and security.

The seminar also gave the cadets an opportunity to learn about Thailand’s armed forces, defence institutions and military heritage through direct interaction with senior officials and visits to military sites.

Khaosod reported the visit is expected to contribute to stronger professional links between future American military officers and their Thai counterparts. Educational exchanges and military engagement programmes remain an important element of the broader US-Thai alliance.

Our cadets are looking pretty shabby. Beards, long hair, wrinkled clothes. Sad to see. Even the Point is falling apart in the States.

You think they look shabby just look at the typical US Army soldier now. The Army needs the largest amount of recruits and meeting enlistment goals have been difficult. So the Army leadership has adjusted standards and some are getting in with waivers. It's even worse in some National Guard and Reserve units. It's a good thing the future of warfare will be in the air and with UAV's. Special Forces have not adjusted their standards but they are a small part of the Army.

Always nice to see the fresh-face FKA: Future Killers of America. Bright and ready to bomb small boats in int'l. So clean cut, they must be Mormons!

Next we'll be inviting the IDF for motivational speakers and inspiration.

At least I don't see any fatties. Unless they're hiding them on the back rows.

The best chance at "killing" comes if one is branched in Combat Arms(Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery etc). Many from the Point will end up in Combat Support or Combat Service Support branches (Military Intel, Quartermaster, Transportation or even Medical Services). Not all in any Army actually "kill". Some have regular and mundane jobs like Finance, Adjutant General etc. Also, not all soldiers are deployed to combat zones. I have known several Army officers who do not have a patch on the right shoulder (this means one has actually served in combat). In conclusion not everyone in the the photo will become in your words "FKA" s. Some will only serve the mandatory five years and get out without ever "killing".

And some will become lifers because of early retirement, education, healthcare & pension.

But every one of the Air Force cadets who trained on a plane that bombed a boat in the Caribbean is a murderer. The trouble is, this is the videogame generation. Those dots on a screen, those targets, aren't real humans. They get up and you get to the game's next level.

Nationalism is a cancer. No country is better than any other. You're born where you are.

When the current government is clearly only interested in getting close to Beijing and Moscow... why bother?
