Seriously, lets hope the people of Clacton don't throw their vote away on a ridiculously silly novelty candidate, and instead overwhelmingly vote for Count Binface. Remember, the Count, not the <de

If no one else stands for election in Clacton except for Our Nige, he could win an overwhelming majority with just two votes - to waltz back into Parliament. Let's hope the Greens stand and beat him.

Am I alone in finding it perturbing that Count Bin Face represents the establishment in the face of the oleaginous snake oil salesman Farage?

I am reminded of when The Monster Raving Looney Party (vote Looney, you know it makes sense!) won a couple of seats in local council elections in Cornwall I believe. They were interviewed by John Humphries on BBC Radio 4 Today programme the next day; they were utterly gobsmacked!

The reality is and Farage couldnt have anticipated is that every main stream party voter will now vote for Binface to spite Farage

Why not as that is exactly what happened In 2008, then shadow home secretary David Davis called a bizarre by-election over the Government's 42-day terror detention plan. The rest of Westminster looked, shrugged and left him to it.

In 2002 Angus the monkey won the mayor election in Hartlepool he was even re-elect his slogan was "Free bananas for schoolchildren" so even though I don't really think Count Binface will win I would love to see it.

I just hope it remains a two horse race then he is in with a chance albeit a small one though I do think Binface will at least not lose his deposit this time.

There are quite a few in Clacton that are not happy with Farage spending so much time in the US and not in Clacton.

The reason it was a monkey is based on this old Hartlepool myth!

from AI; The Hartlepool Monkey Hanging is a famous piece of local folklore from Hartlepool, England, which claims that during the Napoleonic Wars (early 19th century), the townspeople hanged a monkey they mistook for a French spy.

According to the legend, a French ship was wrecked in a storm off the coast. The only survivor was the ship's pet monkey, dressed in a miniature military uniform to amuse the crew. Having never seen a monkey or a Frenchman before, the locals believed the uniformed animal was an enemy invader. After an impromptu trial where the monkey failed to answer questions in English (responding only with screeches), it was found guilty of espionage and hanged on the beach.

This story is the origin of the nickname "Monkey Hangers," a term used to describe people from Hartlepool. While historically unverified and likely apocryphal, the tale has become a central part of the town's identity

When Reform have lost Julia Hartly-Brewer a very well known right wing Reform supporter journalist then you know the game is up. We are in the Farage end game now and when he goes Reform goes as a credible contender - and the ex Tories will be like bald men fighting over a comb.

Totally unacceptable for the press to give any indication as the properties owned by Farage.

And here's his 7.5 acre Surrey mansion with it's own listed hill fort that he doesn’t want you to know about.

There's a lot of pressure on the Official monster Raving Loony Party to stand down and give Count Binface a clear run - so far they are standing their ground.

His first wife was a Kraut so you could argue that but the current model is a frog. Both are immigrants from that Europe- all with EU passports along with his EU pension. And his family has Huguenot and German ancestry so fake British essentially cosplaying as a patriot.

So he's really a German spy sent to do what 2 wars failed to achieve, destroy the UK from within he started with Brexit and is now going for the government.

We'll all be speaking German soon and this time Trumpland's not going to save us.

Some great humourous posts.

Doesn't change the fact that the mainstream parties haven't got the balls to run candidates as they know they will get slaughtered.

I suggest that they let them both run and just think of what it would mean if they

both beat Farage!

If that happened It would be great then see the winner resign and a new election without any of the three!

I don't think that splitting the left, right, centre ...err ... eccentric vote is the best way to beat Farage😉

Imagine the flounce if conservatives doxxed the Obama children and published their adresses🤣

Based folk have morals, unlike the liberal douche illuminati and common or garden cult members.

"Figures from last year showed he (Farage) was spending about 22 hours a week on additional employment aside from his work as an MP." (Source: The Guardian)

Must be easy numbers being MP for Clacton and leader of Reform.

To the good people of Clacton, make every vote Count.

It would be great to call a General Election and see what support the member for Manchester really has.

There’s already been a general election and an election in Makerfield.

‘The people have spoken’.

Let them speak again. What are you afraid of?

Times have changed, new leader, new government, times have changed since the last election.

They get to speak again when the next general election is called.

A more pertinent question is, what is Farage scared of?

Not pertinent at all. He would romp in. Cue the lawfare.

Let him romp in. Being popular doesn't excuse wrongdoing.

Farage is worried about more exposure of his sleazy backers and their requests.

Spoils his image of being the average British bloke ( with five houses).

It would be naïve to to believe his overseas benefactors are not concerned over the attention payments they’ve made are receiving.

I found this amusing.

In order to resign their seat before the end of a Parliament, a MP can choose to disqualify themself by being appointed to an ‘office of profit under the Crown’. This is the route that Farage took. This has to be approved by the Chancellor and is usually no more than a rubber-stamping exercise. However, apparently Ed Davey suggested that this approval be withheld until Farage had faced the Commons committee over the charges of alleged financial impropriety. Reeves refused Davey's request and said, "If he wants to spend his summer arguing with a bin who am I to interfere".
