You're right. The real purpose of foreign aid is weakening Britain and enriching foreign powers.

Surely that would be racist, bigoted and fascist?

Or are you walking that opinion back again? 😀

Poor old Jonny, ran his mouth before checking the facts…. Again.

The UK humiliates itself on the world stage yet again. I thought all this foreign aid was supposed to provide leverage in incidents like this. Pakistan are laughing all the way to the bank. 😄 Resto

In the UK we don't actually have a government that has a backbone. We have a bunch of morons pretending to represent the people of the UK which they 100% do not.

Here’s your post Jonny:

The specific point is it’s a pack of ill-informed nonsense.

The UK has not humiliated itself.

That’s not the purpose of foreign aid.

Pakistan are not ‘laughing all the way to the bank’, the foreign aid is not given to the Pakistan Government.

While the UK has its fair share of racists and bigots there are nowhere near enough to bring Restore UK to power. Of course if you vote it will be counted, but won’t move the needle.

Restore UK would stop all this.

That damned country isn't fit to be called a nation-state.

Pakistan has sought IMF financial assistance 25 times since becoming a member of the IMF in 1950, according to the IMF's own country data.

Its status as a nuclear-armed state has not prevented repeated balance of payments crises. Pakistan tested nuclear weapons in 1998, yet it has continued to require IMF support on numerous occasions both before and after becoming a nuclear power.

Some notable recent programs include:

  • 2019: $6 billion Extended Fund Facility.

  • 2023: $3 billion Stand-By Arrangement to avert a sovereign default.

  • 2024: $7 billion Extended Fund Facility.

  • 2025: Approval of a separate Resilience and Sustainability Facility focused on climate resilience.

The key point is that nuclear weapons and economic stability are largely unrelated. A nuclear arsenal provides military deterrence, but it does not:

  • generate foreign exchange,

  • reduce fiscal deficits,

  • improve tax collection,

  • increase exports,

  • or resolve debt and balance of payments problems.

Pakistan's recurring IMF programs have generally been driven by:

  • persistent trade and current account deficits,

  • low tax revenues relative to GDP,

  • high external debt,

  • energy sector losses,

  • and repeated delays in structural economic reforms.

So, in direct answer to your question:

  • Pakistan has been to the IMF 25 times since joining in 1950.

  • It has remained a nuclear power since 1998, yet has still required multiple IMF rescue programs afterward

They do seem to represent some folks of the UK, only certain demographics though?

Exactly. Just a pity it isn't the ethnic British they represent

The UK needs to put sanctions on Pakistan. No visas for the UK, no money for Pakistan and cut off any trade until they agree to take their scum back.

Pakistani MP Danyal Chaudhry also argued that Ahmed's upbringing in Britain, rather than his birthplace, shaped the man he became.

That "British" upbringing being in Pakistani ghettos in Oldham and Rochdale notwithstanding.

Great to see an intelligent post on here for once.

My prediction? Farage steps away for a career on the US talk show circuit, creating an opportunity for a Reform/Restore consolidated effort.

Not a merger but an agreement to step down in key seats where they split they vote and allow Labour to win.

  1. A reform/restore coalition government.

If labour win again Britain is finished. This is the last chance.

The last of my UK rental properties will be sold next week. My money will be removed before a Burnham socialist government can steal it.

My heart says the uk will be fine. My head says its cooked.

From Starmer to Burnham or frying pan to the fire ? Burnham the savior? Even more soft left wing than Starmer , and an out and out socialist . This is not encouraging unless you are a welfare dependent leech . I hope your predictions about the right wing coalition are correct because that is the only way of rescuing the UK .
