Hi

At present we can call from uk to Thailand to any land line or mobile anywhere in Los from any line including a mobile in the uk and it adds 1 pence per min to the bill, it is very easy and as simple as it sounds.

Is there any way of calling Uk from Thailand other than skype or internet phone ???

There are several services out there. The one I like is http://www.deedial.com. Has a very nice 1 touch dial feature. You program an overseas number to map to a local number, dial the local number and it rings the overseas number. No pin numbers required. U.K. fixed line cost is 2 baht/min (about 2.9 p).

There are also several calling cards you can buy at 7-11 and Family Mart as well.

No way to make U.K mobile calls cheap. The problem is the high interconnect fees charged by the carriers in the U.K., not the Thai services. If you want cheap calls to your U.K. mobile, you need to scream at Vodaphone and O2 for charging such ridiculously high wholesale rates.

Cheapest non skype I use occasionally is My World sim from Carphone Wharehouse about 6p a min land 8p min mobile. Not looked for a while, there may be better out there.
