Do you agree that Thailand is making it harder for foreigners?

Thailand piling on the "scrutiny" harder and deeper.

Isn't this getting ridiculous now?

Look I know many people (including myself) aren't the biggest fans of the "American lawyer in Thailand" but don't shoot the messenger, Kay?

All I read is TH enforcing the rules. Only those breaking the rules need to be concerned IMHO.

Only negative, they scrutinizes everyone's paperwork now at Imm, which again, shouldn't be a problem for anyone ... following the rules.

I hope they continue, enforcing the rules even harder than they have been. Get rid of the folks that have made it a bit more hassle (not really) every year, with a bit more paperwork for the rest of us.

No, actually I think it's easier than when I arrived, 2000. Better roads, better infrastructure, better & cheaper phone & internet options. More visa options, more English spoken & signag

No, I'm not wasting 5+ minutes of my life, listening to someone's opinion, about TH enforcing laws, as if that's a bad thing. I already know what docs I need at Imm.

All I hear is more enforcement needing in traffic & MB deaths, but not when it comes to expat or tourist arrival laws.

I'll use my imagination, not very hard, considering who posted, and save those 5+ mins for something else more productive. Like walking the dog, as I'm getting the 'hey Ahole, it's getting dark, lets go' stare.

She's happy she didn't have to wait 5 ish more minutes for a silly vid.

And then what? Do you have jobs lined up for these visa agents?

What's next? Close down all the bars on Walking Street and let the girls go get training as Python software developers?

I'm pretty sure the screenshot on the vid tells me everything I need to know. Another lawyer simply telling what is needed, maybe throw in a little fear, doom & gloom of what if, you don't have. If need help, link or ph# provided.

To the thread title, as stated many times by many people, only those on the wrong side of the rules / law, need to be concerned. Nothing I've noticed in couple decades is different or harder. Just wee bit more verifying what was always needed.

Actually more options available to stay in TH have been added, so quite the contrary, it's easier to stay in TH ... IMHO

I hear it's BLISS.

Did I miss anything in the vid ? Anything new you want to clue us in on ? Obviously I have nothing to watch, (tv or movies) as been on AN way longer than normal. If I get any more bored, might watch vid for a chuckle, with probably, a 'why did I bother'.

If anything has changed, in reference to retirement visa, I'm sure there would be 10 new threads within the hour of any announcement. So almost impossible to miss anything, and one of only reasons I'm on AN.

That was good, I like that

OK, so I watched it, and yep ... 'why did I bother' To prove to myself, not to watch any more again.

A private visa service, not IMM, is stating they will be scrutinizing income when arriving. Nothing new. Lot more paperwork for the elite higher income visa holders, maybe, but again, not an IMM letter, email, or notice.

Lawyer implies, this probably, might, maybe, or not, means more scrutiny on lower income non imm 0 visa. On my, as if verifying my income & address is hard. When marriage visa, simply verifying I'm still married.

Don't ask why I don't watch your silly vids again. Please post something real, life from Imm, IF something is actually changing, not simply being enforced.

Hava a pleasant night.

Lies.

Lies.

Don't ever call me a liar again, call me mistaken, which I'm not this time, and I'm spot on.

Sadly, the vid doesn't have, or I'm an idiot, and didn't see the trascript button. But I pieced via screenshot CC as he read the emali, not from IMM, but a private visa service, (as I stated). Nothing is from IMM.

The privat service, TP, uses an Imm screenshot, or the rules, no surprises again, nothing new.

And the private company, who seem to ignore his, mailers emails, when questioned TP about some info, wants to charge him 10K to apply for his 5 yr extension, no guarantee or refund, if denied. Also Imm policy, without the 10k service fee.

So a little fear mongering for a new fee perhaps.

Take note, not IMM, lawyer states such, & implies maybe lower visas will also be scutinized, and repeats that 'what if' again near end of vid.

Black background text is CC copy off vid, please show me where I lied. I won't waste time awaiting your apology. Simply shows who the real liar. Or did you not watch the vid 🤣

@Jingthing

And you dare accuse me of trolling & lying ... too funny.

Found the transcript botton and a repeat of photo, with transcrip copy on the right, in case anyone thinks I manipulated and pick words to fit my opinion. NO, straight from the vid.

The infographic, is simply a reminder to anyone (Elite not mentioned), entering TH, may be ask about financing their stay. Nothing new, not changes. Actually been released for over a month. Any reports of extra scrutiny at the check points.

NO ... nothing reported on AN ... anyone ????

TP & the lawyer, are simply using it as a fear mongering tactic, to drum up business. IMHO

That's all. Marketing. No Imm rule changing, just enforcemtn of rules on the books .... maybe. Same they've been enforcing when someon shows up looking a bit sking.

From AI, when I asked about original date release ...

Just a new verson of the olf infographic, dated Dec 2025, show below, and new one has nicer graphics, and friendier looking Imm officers.

I think the obvious answer is yes they are.

Do you agree, or not?

The video details many specific points making that case.

I don't see very much at all to disagree with in it.

There is one thing.

I did know very well from the get go coming for retirement that Thailand wasn't inviting me. Rather I was inviting myself so that's a different less warm and fuzzy dynamic.

I also knew that being on retirement extensions offered no path to permanent residence.

On buying a condo, I knew that owning a condo didn't give the right to live in it.

But I didn't know how it would feel 20 years later to have invested so much in Thailand and offered nothing in return as far as any increased status.

Nope, they are just acting finally to catch the frauds. Many more visa opportunities have been opened for people who actually can comply with the rules.

The original poster seems to have sent a video by a disgruntled foreigner and then asked the question: "Do you agree that Thailand is making it harder for foreigners?"

However, when anyone responses with anything other than yes, they agree, he gets upset and accuses posters of not having watched the video. Therefore, this is not a true question looking for meaningful response. This is a disgruntled visitor looking for confirmation.

Did you look the video ? 😉😅

Im guilty

Certainly not harder for me. I comply legally with the visa requirements. No desire to own property in Thailand (rent Thailand, buy home country).

Piece a cake.
