Agree, I don't think wildest exaggerater would suggest it is 10 to 20%. Given the whole of the Defence budget is a mere 3%. It is a gravy train exploited by people smugglers and what ever the percentage is it should be stopped.

I was addressing a specific comment where a poster was complaining about giving education to children of asylum seekers amongst other things. Hardly an obsession, if hadn't whinged about it I would never have mentioned children. Is that OK?

I think that the millions upon millions of “fighting age men” that have already arrived have demonstrated that the initial journey isn’t so perilous.

It’s heartwarming to read the comments from posters showing concern for the safety of the boat people re. “Gendarmes not stopping rubber craft leaving the beach at Calais”.

I bet the same posters are the ones who spent their lives back home complaining about the “Nanny State” and progressed to telling all in the pub that “It’s political correctness gone mad!” yet are now angry that Health and Safety measures weren’t followed in Calais (albeit for nefarious reason).

Is it legal to enter and leave Countries without going through immigration at either end ?
