So it would appear these guys are not only thugs and murderers but also serial killers. The death penalty is the only answer for people like this, it should be carried out swiftly without the possibility of appeal, as there is sufficient evidence and confessions.

In this lifetime we are required to show dignity and respect towards other people and certain acts when committed are essentially a self revocation of the right to consume oxygen. It seems as if that right has been revoked with these two fools a long time ago, and they were living on borrowed time.

My heart goes out to the family who must have been suffering greatly, but at least this most heinous crime has finally been resolved.

Murders of foreign residents are only a tiny part of Thailand's murder stats — if you want to live safe, you'd have to move to Singapore.

RAPES:

Germany: 17 per 100,000 people.

France: 73.5 per 100,000 people.

Thailand: 3 per 100,000 people.

Opportunistic, evil, nasty thugs, the kids were just in the wrong place and at the wrong time.

Some people, such as these two, with a lot of history of wrongdoing, simply don't need a reason.

Evil is what evil does, and don't expect uneducated monsters to think rationally.

Russian pair and Thai family found buried in Chon Buri

Police have recovered the bodies of two Russian nationals and a Thai mother, father and daughter from separate burial sites in Huay Yai, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri, following the detention of two suspects.

On 1 August, officers took two men, identified as Pong and Thong, to indicate where the bodies had been buried. Police also named Chatchanan Paen-iam, known as Fluke, and Atsadang Chuwong, known as Ball, as alleged participants in the crimes.

The cases emerged after an investigation into the disappearance of the two Russians led officers to suspects and further evidence concerning the missing Thai family.

Two Russians found in one grave

Pol Lt Gen Chatchai Surachetphong, commissioner of Provincial Police Region 2, said the Russian victims were found in the same roughly one-metre-deep grave in the Sakae Ngiao forest area of Huay Yai.

The woman's body was beneath the man's. The woman had signs of physical assault, while the man had two gunshot wounds, to the abdomen and head. Both bodies were still clothed and had been placed directly in the ground without any wrapping.

Investigators said the suspects' statements matched evidence in several respects. The suspects claimed they had intended only to steal a motorcycle, did not know the Russian victims and encountered them by chance.

Police said the suspects were not dressed as officers at the time, but had used documents or some form of identification to claim they were police. The victims' motorcycle was allegedly dismantled for sale, then its parts were buried after news of the investigation emerged.

Missing family linked to investigation

Police later took Pong and Thong to a coconut grove in Moo 10, Huay Yai, around two kilometres from the first scene, where they pointed out another grave. The bodies of the missing Thai family of three were recovered there.

According to the investigation, suspects allegedly posed as police to search the family's home, restrained the parents with handcuffs and took them away. Their daughter returned from a convenience store during the incident and was also taken, police said.

Investigators said Pong allegedly shot the mother, Ball the father and Fluke the daughter before the three bodies were buried together. The alleged motive was robbery.

The sister of one of the Thai victims said relatives repeatedly sought help tracing active mobile numbers, but were told that phone-location checks require legal authority and cannot be arranged privately.

She said the family had searched for more than a month, continuing to call her sister, niece and brother-in-law and taking food to dogs at the home. She said they may never have learned what happened without the Russian victims investigation.

Police are examining whether the suspects, one had reportedly been released from prison about two months earlier, could be connected with other cases.

These lot should face a firing squad as they are not just serial killers, but also rapists, thieves, police impersonators, kidnappers, and generally about as violent and evil as you get... killing a family with a teen girl plus a 17 year boy and his older sister = forgone your right to be called human. And these are only the ones we know about, bet there are more bodies lying unfound as this doesn't seem like a new thing for them.

A sobering reminder of just how dangerous the nighttime, especially after midnight into the small hours, can be here with all sorts of unsavory people just roaming around, as that's how these types operate... become active in the mid-late afternoon, eat, take drugs, and be active until early morning at sunrise, then they retreat to their burrows and rinse and repeat.

I must admit I was shocked at the outcome both brother and sister getting murdered over a motor bike

These 2 persons involved deserve the death penalty and as it involves Foreign tourists will probably be approved as a example to deter others of thinking of doing the same 😱

So very sad for the parents of these kids and the Thai family. This is a nightmare. Horror.

The calls followed the arrest of Thana Keridthong, known as "Pong", and Thongchai, known as "Thong", under warrants issued by Pattaya Provincial Court in connection with the deaths of the Russian brother and sister.

Online anger over tourism concerns

Online comments have demanded capital punishment, describing the killings as a shocking case and raising concerns about Thailand's image as a safe tourism and overseas settlement destination. Commenters also described the suspects as dangerous, claiming they had reoffended after previous releases from prison.

Former girlfriend makes allegations

Separately, there are claims from a woman who said she was formerly in a relationship with Pong.

She said she had submitted chat records and a police report as evidence, and alleged that he controlled, threatened and physically assaulted her. She also claimed he forced her to watch videos involving murders and assaults.

The woman further alleged that he once dug a hole, forced her to lie in it and threatened to bury her alive. She said she had decided to make a report and was willing to assist police as a witness if her information could help investigators.

Yes, that is strange that the Thai family got no news reports or anything that would resemble concern.

I have lived in some parts of Thailand for many years and living in Pattaya, i have known Thai people of all walks of life and have seen bad people doing bad things to others, but this brutality, savagery and barbarity takes the cake,

and for what? for a motorcycle and a car,

What they'll punished with not the point, the point is how human being can do such inhumane to young people, that's is beyond comprehension, the lows of all lows.

What would be justice would be to find a legal loophole allowing them to be turned over to Russia for killing Russian citizens.

There is a specific one only for murderers and rapists. Barely heated in winter, hotter than Thailand in the summer. Chains on hands and feet every time out of the cell and duckwalked where ever they go. Their bunk is folded against the wall at wake-up. They can only stand in their cell all day. The food makes Ban Kwang look gourmet. The guards are brutal. No canteen accounts, cold showers even on the coldest days. Every day more miserable than the day before it.

Over 20 years here and I think this is the most horrific crime I’ve encountered .My one boast when I go back home is that Thailand is 10x times safer to live than the UK.

Because it was a missing persons case, that even the police did not seem to take that serious until the link was made yesterday, when the suspect confessed to the additional murders and was then reported.

That area of Huay Yai is quite isolated, and not an area many people frequent even in the daytime, so a question that will probably never be answered is why young foreigners were in/near that area at 4am in the morning..perplexing.

He claimed the pair pretended to be police officers, stopped the Russians for a search and then took them to an area known locally as Yang Yai. The suspects then hid the stolen motorcycle in nearby woodland before dismantling it at Thongchai’s home in an attempt to sell the parts. After a local mechanic reportedly refused to buy them because of their suspicious origin, the parts were buried underground."

Impersonating police officers and then dismantling motorbike for parts after murdering the young Russians. From the article, not their first rodeo. Should receive the death penalty. All conditions met under Thai law, Aggravated Murder (Section 289), with the exception of acquiring a uniform.

From the account that I've read this morning, they didn't 'go there', they were taken there by their attackers.

'Thanapong had allegedly threatened Roman with a handgun, tied his hands and took control of the victims’ motorcycle, while Thongchai escorted Diana on his own motorcycle to the remote wooded area'.
