The prisoners in Thai jails aren't concerned about what crimes you committed, they don't care about killers, drug dealers, or Paedophiles.

There has been some clarification as to why the 2 youngsters went out at that time: Apparently there was some scenic spot in the area, shared online, popular with Russians to view the sunrise and they decided to go and see it. They said/claim they were meant to meet someone but he didn't show and as they had their fake police outfits they stopped the victims. Which does make some sense as they used the same tactic to invade the home of the Thai family who they also murdered back in June.

Is that convictions for rape or reported rapes? In the west the majority of rapes are not even reported and of those a fraction lead to conviction. The 'shame and trauma' of that crime puts enormous further trauma on victims of court cases where sentences are often derisory. In a country like Thailand which is in truth very conservative it's even less likely to even be reported.

There's nothing wrong with going to 7 at any hour. It's suspicious to the elderly who stick to rigid schedules and forget what it's like to be young. Who's to say they weren't up playing video games, watching movies or face timing with loved ones back home? If they were British kids nobody would be asking these questions.

Wise advice, Thailand is changing and less secure. I learned of the Thai family they are also believed to have killed after my other post here. I don't believe the country wants to revive the death penalty however much deserved. A helicopter went back and forth over my place in the afternoon and I expect it was the top man visiting Huay Yai. My Mrs was not complimentary over his comments on TV later. Beware of being flagged down in rural areas is all I can think of. Too many with a head full of Ya Bah around!

People kill others here for very petty things, and seeing these have done it before, robbed and buried a family, doing it again is much easier the second, third or future times. Money for things they need means more than a few lives.

These are antisocial animals, with no respect for life who have no place in society, and where the death penalty is acceptable, instead of putting them back in jail where they came from, and from where they are used to staying.

They do this in America, they won't last a month in prison there, but like another said, many in prison here are there for violent offenses against all types, including families, so they would fit in well.

This news is now all over the world, further shows what goes on here and will more hurt their tourism.

Many 7/11s are open 24 hours a day so people can visit anytime, some peoples late at night are others early morning.

Turns out theft was the motive when they raided the home of the family they murdered a couple of weeks earlier as well.

Almost seems like Pong went on some sort of murderous rampage shortly after being released from prison, almost reminiscent of the killing spree Ted Bundy went on down in Florida after he escaped from a Colorado jail. Surprising how quickly he was able to round up three accomplices in a relatively short period of time after being released, and it does make me wonder if the accomplices knew beforehand the victims would be murdered or if they thought they were just signing up for a strong arm vehicle robbery. Some of the details, besides being chilling, shows someone in the group, most likely Pong, had a very sophisticated and encyclopediac knowledge of how to commit crimes and avoid detection. I was particularly struck by the detail that the stolen motorcycle's license plate had been cut into pieces and buried in four different places. The Achilles heel of his knowledge base seems to have been a lack of awareness of how useful CCTV cameras have become in tracking down criminals. If he was incarcerated for a long time before being released, this may explain his lack of awareness in this area. The logistical difficulty of disposing of a victim(s) body (ies) is probably one of the biggest obstacles to successfully committing a homicide. Once this guy thought he had cracked the puzzle - just dig a deep enough hole - he seems to have thought he could invincibly commit as many murders as he pleased. The chilling detail that they impersonated police officer(s) does suggest premeditation, and may subject at least some of the defendants to a death penalty ruling.

I prefer the Japanese model. They let you stew for decades, or only a few years or months perhaps. You don't get a date. Then one day they enter your cell in the morning, give you a sheet of paper and a pencil to say goodbye with, and in less than an hour the trapdoor opens.

Of course the garrote is also a demonic form of capital punishment. And you can stretch it out for ages before you finally crush the windpipe and break the neck.

Fact is though that I'm not a murderer and killing helpless, defenseless people who are no longer a threat is murder regardless of their past. Judicial murder, with the responsibility neatly shared out so no one feels responsible, but murder nonetheless.

I do believe that for certain categories of violent criminal death row conditions should be mandatory with whole life terms. I firmly believe that the rights of the ordinary citizen not to suddenly come face to face with some of these scumbags when they're having a bad hair day outweighs the scumbags' rights to freedom. I am 100% for safe streets - and homes.

There should be special prisons, or extensions to existing prisons, so anyone in a normal jail who thinks it can't get any worse knows that it most certainly can.

Death penalty or a full life sentence , there is no difference , and personally I don't care which, their victims can never be resurrected We can definitely ensure that these savages don't kill again but unfortunately we will never stop others from doing the same.

Computers and Tv and even cars are manufactured under sterile and highly controlled environments, using only proven and tested components yet surprisingly , still we end up a dud every now and again. So bearing in mind how humans are produced is it any wonder we end up with wronguns like this now and again.

Humans are not bred from the best of stock, yet any suggestion that they should be results in outrage, we are , as a result, the only domestic species on the planet that is "unmanaged" , So this sort of evil will never be bred out , and these savages will no doubt have already passed on their faulty genes

I would be in favour of any criminals involved in such cases to be automatically castrated prior to any other punishment firstly to make absolutely certain they don't pass on any more of their defective genes and secondly I feel it may well act as a more effective deterrent than prison or indeed execution

This is repeat behaviour and a deliberate act as well as pre meditated murder of a Thai family, as well as the damage done to Thailand's reputation internationally, with the murder of the two Russian youngsters.
