Nearly 20% of Israelis Have Considered Emigrating in Past Two Years

Nearly one in five Israelis has considered moving to another country over the past two years, and one-third of Israelis know at least one person who has emigrated within that timeframe, according to a new poll.

Eighteen percent of Israelis have considered moving to another country over the past two years, and one-third of Israelis know at least one person who has emigrated within that timeframe. Close to 100,000 Israelis emigrated during 2025.

Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics estimated that roughly 90,000 people emigrated from Israel last year – a trend that began in 2023, even before the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7 of that year.

The poll sets out to present the effect Israel's October 27 election will have on people's desire to leave the country.
