I think the app developers are able to hide reviews they don't like, which means the total rating is fake.

I just looked at Index Living Mall, 100k downloads, 300 reviews apparently, but can only see a few no matter how you filter

SPOTVNow has hidden my 1* review, it has some weird date of 1970 so appears to be missing from the data

Google has several internal filters which can remove different reviews for various reasons. Not necessarily the developers to blame and removing them from sight does not alter the overall rating.

For the Index app there are 254 x 5 star phone reviews, 24 x 4 star, 15 x 3 star, 3 x 2 star and 9 x 1 star. Average = 4.7 just as they show.

My phone doesn't show that, only 3x5*, no 4*

Go back a page from the one you screenshot and you should see the 306 total summary with an average score of 4.7. You probably won't see the details I gave but they're accurate (even though my totals of each ranking only add up to 305!).

The missing ones from your screenshots are the ones removed for all sorts of reasons by Google. Seems absurd the amount that have been removed, but that's how I understand it.

If you can't read the reviews it's garbage. Even Shopee and Lazada allow you to see the reviews
