Lazada returns and refunds - What's going on?

Featured Replies

Slightly off topic but related to Lazada and their ever changing routines.

On Sunday Aug 23rd i ordered an item from Lazada ( 456 baht ), immediately an email and Lazada app stated that delivery would be 26th to 28th Aug.

On Monday (24th ) I received a message via the app that a delivery attempt had failed.

I have had these messages before and usually no reason is given, in this case I had already paid via TrueMoney so there was no reason to not leave the package in my front garden as they have done numerous times before, usually the delivery man will call but I received no such call.

Doubtful that an attempt had been made less than 24 hours after ordering i checked the delivery photo.

Which clearly shows, presumably, my package together with others of a similar size in a warehouse somewhere and not my home.

Clicking on the “ view more “ it states the item was delivered on the 24th at 10.12 am and received by me !!

The app stating a “ high parcel volume “ causing the failed delivery attempt.

While my item is still due to be delivered 26-28Aug I do wonder what is the reason for claiming a failed delivery and sending me a photo of what is probably a normal status ( a pile of boxes in a warehouse ).

Obviously it could possibly be delivered within the due dates but the contradiction of failed delivery attempt and received by me doesn’t fill me with much hope.

i do drop off then you don't need a label, maybe items from China they don't want back or if seller knows they are fake or poor quality, once closed keep ir or bin it

  • There are definite issues with sellers who appear to use drop-shipping with items being available on Lazada but then being nil-stock at the shipper. Dashed annoying!

I send back if not correct item, defect, fake or damaged. Not worth my time either but I just cant let them get off the hook.

The failed delivery attempt sometimes happens when the driver cannot deliver all parcels to different addresses within the planned time frame. It does not mean that the driver reached your house and nobody was there. It will be sent to you the next day if possible.

I understand that if there is not enough time in the day to complete all deliveries then it will be classified as a failed delivery attempt and usually delivered the next day, I have had this a handful of times.

But in this case it is 2 - 4 days before the due delivery date and less than 24 hours after ordering, it also doesn’t appear to have left the warehouse, don’t think i have ever received a package from Lazada in less than 3 days.

Add together with a photo claiming i had received the package I find suspicious or at least incompetent.

I suspect the package will arrive but find their interactions strange and unnecessary.

The photos have a handy-dandy GPS location, feed that into Google Maps to find your package.

It's invariably the local depot of the courier although I did get one recently that was actually fairly local to us, my step grandson was dispatched on his motorcycle but the receipents had already called a wrong delivery and it had been picked up. We did get it next day.

Had a recent failed delivery due to "client cancel" (we hadn't, not even a phone call) and the package was returned to the seller.

Grrr.
