These are human categories, not objective laws of nature. “Jewish” can describe ancestry, ethnicity, culture or religion, and other people may classify someone as Jewish regardless of how they identify. But that doesn't mean an individual has to accept that identity as the defining truth about themselves. The same applies to labels such as white, British or Kurdish. Ultimately they're categories humans have constructed to describe ourselves and each other. I don't particularly need any of them. I'm Homo sapiens, and that's more than enough for me.

Race is a social construct.

Ethnicity is real.

Tribes are real;

If you're born a native American of the Cherokee tribe, you're objectively Cherokee.

Of course there are exceptions with Jews as it is possible to convert to the religion (though extremely difficult) so in that case the tribal aspect is not the same. Also intermarriage.

But just because there are exceptions doesn't mean the rule is wrong.

No need to take this further.

As a Jew I would have to agree that most Jews tend to be very thin skinned when it comes to discussing or criticizing Israeli policy. The thinnest skinned people among the planet are Israelis themselves, and the biggest snowflakes on the planet are guys like Netanyahu, Trump and the IDF.
