They aren’t winning. But in terms of the original objectives of the USA, neither is it winning.

Destruction of military hardware is one thing, but it doesn’t mean the war has achieved your objectives.

I’d also dispute your assertion that the USA is in control of the straits of Hormuz. If they controlled it, they would open it to traffic, would they not?

In actual fact, each side has control, but only in a negative sense in so far as they can block it, but they can’t open it.

At the moment it’s stalemate. That won’t necessarily be the case for ever. The Iranian economy has been close to collapse for a long time, maybe this time it will actually collapse. Although who suffers, ordinary Iranians?

Maybe USA will get close enough to running out of missiles that they don’t want to use more. And they aren’t cheap either.

Maybe USA puts boots on the ground and invades?

All of the above is unlikely in my view, so stalemate.

Long term I’m sure alternative infrastructure will be built so that the straits of Hormuz becomes less relevant. But that will take years to build.

Never mind, Trump has colonized Venezuala and will have their oil to sell. Just take 100 billion dollars and a decade or so to get the infrastructure up to scratch.

Oil exports from the Persian Gulf have recovered to around two-thirds of pre-war levels, limiting the Iran war’s impact on global crude prices, according to Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

If the shipping companies start using the egress and ingress lanes this number will only go up. Surely this is good news for all but the irrational Trump haters and the fundamentalists running Iran.

Maybe the strait is demined. Centcom saying it is, doesn’t mean it is 100%. That’s actually quite hard to achieve.

And then one drone hit on a ship passing through and it all stops again. And although Goldman Sachs says that Gulf oil exports are at 2/3 the level of prewar, the oil price doesn’t suggest that’s the case.

But we shall see. The oil price and gasoline prices in the USA and elsewhere will tell us whether the strait is truly open, as has been declared by Donald previously, multiple times.

At the moment, both are higher than prewar levels, which tells me things are not back to normal and the war isn’t “won”, however much you and Donald may say so.

I doubt this as they lie all the time along with this WH!
