Hi,

My one year multi entry O visa is due to expire in little over a fortnight. I was married last year and reside in Issan. I have been told that there is an immigration office in Korat where I can apply for a marriage visa. Is this so?........I believe funds of 400,000 baht must be shown & a monthly income of 40,000 baht per month or more. Is this correct? Will they accept sight of bank books or do they require a statement from the bank? My income comes from the UK & is paid into an account there; I withdraw what I need here via ATM/debit card, although, I do have the last couple of months statements from the UK bank to show. Would this be acceptable? My bank books also show substantial deposits from overseas.

I would appreciate any advice, also the telephone number / address of the ofice in Korat.

Thanks in advance guys.

There is no more 400k bank deposit requirement but you must have 40k monthly income and for overseas income that will require a letter from your Embassy in Bangkok. You should have the bank paperwork and a letter of account balance when you visit immigration with your wife. You will also need photos, copies of passport pages and arrival card, photos of you together in home and of home number, wife ID card/home register are also likely to be required.

What you apply for is an extension of stay for one year using a TM.7 form at a cost of 1,900 baht.

Hopefully someone will have the address/number.

Thanks a million Lopburi, this is great information; very much appreciated. If anyone does have the contact details for the immigration office that would be great, will get ourselves along there early next week:)
