Ms Outlook Problem, Cannot Open Outlook, Any Ideas To Fix?

Hi

I am having a serious problem with MS Outlook, it will not open for me, and the error message is that, Outlook Fiolders and Servers will not open.

Ms Word is out of Office Professional 2003 is opening fine , as is Mx Excel.

I had a legit version of MS Office on the notebook, and I went to download an grade from Microsoft Office Download site, I think the first upgrade was for Ms Outlook.

Anyway, after download MS Office will not open... it then occured to me, that I left the notebook into a certain PC Repair Store in Tucom many months back, and they must have uploaded copied pirate MS Office softate, and uninstalled my legit ms office software.

I need to get Outlook open urgent, as I got some very important emails in there and very important emails & attachment in folders. and I do not want to play around too much incase, I loose or delete anything, as I am not very techie either.

I tried the usual reboot, disc clean up, Advance Windows Personal Scan and Repair, and no... Outlook will not open..

Any urgent suggestions would be grately appreciated?

Between stolen telecoms wires from TOT and all sortd of bolloxology with computers and software its been a fun month... not!!!! business problems galore!!! :o

PS.. on my PC ( The outlook problem is on Dell Inspiron 6000 note book) there is a pirateed version of Windows XP thanks to shop I bought off in Tucom in Pattaya... I am sick to death of pirate and copied software... for business use it causes more problems, and I never asked for pirated stuff... I would pay for the real license. Anyway I keep getting a warning box flash up saying "System Maybe at Risk, and to upgrade to a proper licensed version of windows"...does anyone know if this can be done easy without loosing files off the PC... at a touch of the button and Credit Card number... so I can upgrade to a real version of Windows and how much it may cost?

Thanks Kindly

Gerry

If you had a legit version you should have the CD and CD-Key, both legit!

Star the setup process from the CD and choose the repair function and evrything should works well!

I just discovered I have my legit CD,,, and its MS Office 2000 which was legit for sure that I bought off a MS Reseller who looked after office network in ireland. So when I took notebook to Tucome in Pattaya to get fixed, he must have loaded up Office 2003 which was a pirated version.

So even if it is Office 2000 ( yes I have Key and Disc here both legit), and I run that.. I can use repair function..without loosing my very important emails out of MS Outlook?

Thanks

This gets worse, I have the legit box, the legit product key, but the bloody legit Office 2000 Cd has gone missing. ( I think a buddy may have borrowed it with me knowing and not given it back!!!)

Can I work around this problem now?

Still unable to get into Outlook, which is causing me serious work issues, as I need to get at info in there urgently, and I cannot find the disc now. but have legit product key....

where can I go from here????

Thanks Reimar.

I am wonder would it be easier to go to as legit MS Reseller in Pattaya area, and bring laptop in, get them to install legit Office 2007, and fix this problem while I am at it, without loosing any information, and then all is legit, all information safe which is crucial, and no more worries.

All the mess, and I never once asked for copied software over here, and certainly in europe would never either. not worth the trouble for business use if you work solo like me, so hours messing about with software = lost business.

If you have the legit 2000 Vertsion but not 2007 means that you need to buy the 2007 version. There not an special Update Price available! Ok, you can get the cheaper Home and Student Version but there a lot limits on it. The main limit is the update beside of critical updates are not possible. And alot exrtras is missing on this version. I wouldn't go for it!

Can I suggest that in the short term you backup your outlook.pst and archive.pst files. If all else fails you will still have your data. If set at default it is located in C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

You could try to run "SCANPST" It's located here. C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT\SCANPST.EXE
