Around 120 representatives from government agencies, and local communities in Phuket, Phang-Nga and Krabi attended a seminar and voiced their opinions and suggestions on ways to manage natural resources of Phang-Nga Bay. Aiming for sustainable utilization and management of the resources, the seminar aimed at having all parties and stakeholders’ participation in the program. The Director of Marine and Coastal Resources stressed that getting local attention and their participation would lead to more sustainable management. He also stated that the new constitution, which stipulates that local government takes part in community resources management, would empower the locals to take care of their natural resources.
