Can somebody outline for me respectively for this guy, French, 43 years old, married to a Thai, marriage registered in Thailand and France, with a

THB 2 million business in Isaan (renting out condos with a 49/51 split between him and his wife as the only employees of the company) a detailed plan how

to extend his present visa for a year. The last 2 months he has paid himself a monthly salary of THB 50000 and lives here on a Non-B-Visa and Work Permit, both expiring on October 17, 2007. He received 4 subsequent 90 days Non-B-Visas from Vientiane and asks himself, if he could not exchange those costly

runs to Vientiane by an Extension on his present visa.

He’s gotten very confusing info so far and due to little English he approached me to sort things out, but me as a simple Non-O-Visa border runner not being

too knowledgeable enough in this particular matter, I am only interested to hand out advice that counts.

Should he base his visa on his marriage with 40K monthly income proved by his last two months salary showing in his bank book and usual form tm.87,

THB 2000 fee, copies duly signed of his wife’s ID and Tabien Ban, marriage certificate and registration papers and a 4x6 cm photograph?

I understand that such an Extension would best be done together with his wife at Suan Plu in Bangkok.

Please correct me where I am wrong. I do appreciate your help. Thanks.

As he is not now extending for work will assume his company will not qualify him for extensions of stay. But he has a non immigrant visa so there would not be any need for a TM.87 form.

The problem now is that he does not have the required three months of tax paperwork (or last years tax filing as required in some cases). Expect he will need to obtain one more non immigrant single entry visa before he can make an extension of stay request under the family 40k income method using the normal TM.7 form at 1,900 baht. This should be applied for with 3-4 week remaining on the permitted to stay stamp.

Sorry lopburi3 for not being precise enough. He intends to extend his work permit, but the local people to issue his WP told him to now first seek at Immigration an Extension of his Non-B-Visa before they would follow with the Extension of the Work Permit.

On the other hand Vientiane told him after the last visa that they would only grant him a further 90 days Non-B-Visa, if he showed a Work Permit which he obtained on August 28, 2007.

With all this at hand I will now tell him to get another Non-B-Visa from Vientiane before he does apply for both Extensions and just use the next 3 months to work on his tax paperwork, which I already told him to be the thing to look at. Thank you lopburi3 anyway.
