Hi all,

I am on a tourist visa, still have a month or so left on it. I now have the information from my company to get the letter from my embassy concerning 40,000 income etc. and would like to change my tourist visa to a non immigrant O (married to a Thai). Can I also apply for the one-year extension at the same time?

Cheers

Believe they now want you to obtain the non immigrant visa/conversion (with 21 days remaining or more of your permitted to stay time) and then wait two months before you apply for extension of stay; but probably best to ask the office you plan to use to be sure.

Thanks Lopburi,

So the conversion would actually start as a new visa? i.e I'd have 90 days from the conversion, although I only had 21 days from my tourist visa remaining?

Cheers
