Just having a gander round some West Ham forums and the fairly regular slagging off him has come around again. Encouraged by some of his recent on-the-pitch antics no doubt.

I can't stand the man to be honest. But out of curiosity I was wondering if other supporters felt he same ? I would assume that for most that McClaren really got off on the wrong foot by choosing him over Gerrard as England captain anyway. Recently I've heard some pundits saying that he's got all the wrong temperament for the job.

But does anyone think that he's got any redeeming characteristics at all ? I'd even go as far as to say that he's overrated as a player. But accept, that I might be blinkered by other factors here.

Nope

Cheers for speaking on behalf of all other supporters, instead of just the lesser team in Manchester - owned by someone who was in bed with the Burmese junta. :o

FC United of Manchester, of course.

We all know that they support the Fascist Junta FC in Burma and are a bunch of mercenaries. No guesses at to what the F...... C.... might stand for though. :o

Yet again some dodgy Hammers fan trying to start something out of nothing, it obviously didn't work HH, no one is willing to jump on your JT hating bandwagon.

I was only trying to see if others though the same about him as do the majority of West Ham supporters. I used to ask the same question about Lampard, until I found out that many do. :D

But give Terry his due. Being a Barking boy (<deleted>) who was a fanatical Manchester United supporter who now plays for Chelsea isn't the best of CV's to brandish in front of the claret and blue. :o

Point taken HH but come on, we should be supporting our national leader, I know you will never think he is a Bobby Moore but give him a chance to prove his worth. By the way tonight's game against Hull, the man of the match....was none other than JT. :D

Great defender, but lets himself and the team down by bitching at every single decision.

Surrrounding the ref 10 times a game just isn't on when your the captain of the club and country, what message does this send out to young kids. :o

Terry has a bad attuitude, and that's the problem. I've even heard talk of him being racist as well. I can't substantiate this, but it wouldn't suprise me for one minute to be honest. Anyway, for me he's too much in the mould of a Dennis Wise to ever like the man.

Gerrard would have made a far better example as one to both lead the England team and as a role model for those youngsters who still look for one.

And you know personally Terry has a bad attitude do you? the racist talk is a load of rubbish, your talking about the Ledley King incident. Why would Terry all of a sudden become a racist? he was school boys mates with Ledley and Defoe, even Ledley rubbished the report.

Gerrard is a good leader for Liverpool but doesn't stand out enough for the national captaincy! far too quiet to lead the line. I think I will start a thread about Julian Dicks!, what a lovely bloke he was!!

I have heard some stuff about West Ham's Lee Bowyer being a bit of a racist...does that have any substance?

Personally I like JT, lobbying the ref is all part of the game and until it is made a rule that you can't do it , why shouldn't he? Other "high Profile" names have been doing it for years, take Alan Shearer for example.

Evryone does it at whatever level. All part of the game putting pressure on the ref/umpire. Same in Cricket, Hockey, although Hiockey and Rugby tend to clamp down on it very quickly. Hence my record of 10 yellow cards and two reds some years back when playing hockey for my University. :o

Of course there's more than enough mileage about Bowyer. But he's not the one under discussion. Nor is he likely to ever to play for England again. Let alone captain them - even under McClaren. :D

I don't know if Terry is or not. But nothing would suprise me.

Personally, can't say that I was a great admirer of Shearer either , until he tried to get the ref to see reason over the ridiculous sending off of "Super, Super Tom, Super, Super Tom, Super Tommy Repka" * some years back. A 'red' that was rescinded on appeal. Couldn't imagine Terry appealing on behalf of an opposing player to be honest. More likely to be the opposite in fact.

* Sorry couldn't resist for nostalgia's sake. :o

Terry ever-present in FifaPro World X1

John Terry and Didier Drogba have been handed places in the FIFPro World XI after votes cast by their fellow professionals across the globe.

It is the third year Terry has been named in the team in the third year FIFPro, the worldwide players' union, has organised a set of awards with over 43,000 professionals invited to cast votes.

Terry joins Ronaldinho as the only players to have made the team all three years. Drogba is in for the first time and is in a forward line alongside the Brazilian star plus another Barcelona player, Lionel Messi.

Gianluigi Buffon is the goalkeeper; fellow Serie A players Alessandro Nesta and Fabio Cannavaro plus Spain and Barça's Carles Puyol are the rest of the defence along with Terry.

The midfield contains the team's second Englishman, Steven Gerrard, the Barclays Premier League's fourth representative, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Milan's Kaká who has been voted the overall FIFPro World Player of the Year.

I cant really fault J T for his football,however.

For the sake of all the youngsters.

Please ditch the thigh length stockings.

Its like a flash back to history books of French gentry of the middle ages.

I see that he may have been spoken to recently about this ,as his stockings have retreated marginally this season compared to last season.

I would,nt be surprised if the stockings became fish nets at some point.

No he's not....but I could start a thread about him, a proven racist,....he is not "under discussion" becuase YOU started this thread about John Terry, bet you would not have started it if JT played for West Ham. :o

Don't be daft, son. I was one of most vocally opposed to signing Bowyer. Even if you look through my post on the West Ham thread of a just couple of weeks ago, you'd find me saying that I'd never say anything good about him.

This thread wasn't started to talk about whether Terry was a racist or anything else about him particularly, but to find out what other supporters thought about him.

He doesn't play for West Ham so that hypothesis is a non starter.

Breath in, count to 7 (seven), breath out. Ooops , sorry. :D

John Terry is an arrogant ars###le on and off the pitch, what gives him the right to lay seige to every ref whenever he plays, what a great example to the young kids the Captain of England is.

l worked the bodyguard scene in London a few years ago and saw enough of John Terry and his pals they act like di##s when they are out on the town, l think being captain of club and country, your behaviour should be beyond reproach.

You probably saw him when he was just a young footballer with lots of money to throw around and impress his mates. I believe it was before he was made captain of club and country.......you idiot!!
