And what's the point? Good thing they have their own activites together instead of nagging at the hubbies or being depressed raising kids by herself or having a nanny/maids as their best friends. Yall hubbies should be glad and let them roll and shake it amoung wify's, cook for them is even suggested.

If you look on the table you will see plates (white round things). On top of the plates you will see the food. Takes a while, but if you try it enough you will get the hang of it.

eating is much more a social event that it's in the west, where we tend to eat alone on front of the television - even if there is no drink everybody will just enjoy the companionship of friends and all together karaoke singing

there seem to be no spoons or knives there, just (coloured) plastic forks and that kinda limit the type of food one can eat. Bit awkward eating soup with a fork gotta luv the look of the boy wielding a fork in each hand 555 lol

Howdy corkscrew,My wife also enjoyes to have a meal with her friends.In the USA or in Thailand.That is another thing that I really enjoy my self about Thai people.In that in general they enjoy getting together for meals,unlike most westerners.Thais look at it as a reson to get together for conversation and fun at any meal.

when in the middle east working my wife gets together with other thai lady friends to prepare the food that their husbands banish from their respective households...in other words, the unspeakable; boiled offal, anything with pickled bamboo, etc...my wife tried cooking that stuff at home in Abu Dhabi and next thing I knew there was a lynch mob of neighbors wearing breathing apparatii against the noxious fumes/odors emanating therefrom...

not content to use the most appalling ingredients on offer from the expat supermarkets the ladies return from visits to Thailand with suitcases fulla pigs ears(ever had pigs ear laarb?), lungs, stinky little fishes (the wife's favorite) and ingredients to concoct the most evil smelling substances possible...

this activity only takes place when the falang husbands are away at work during the day...the buffet is a lot more tame whenever there is a get together with the husbands...

I just love how they have no qualms about eating on the floor; I enjoy that too, though my lower back does scream out in protest after half an hour or so. My mom would throw a fit if she sees me putting food on the floor though. I think she's just too much of a prude. Love the pictures!

I'm totally awed by how the girls can sit forevers, crosslegged, back bent over and not once bemoaning the position that would leave me half-numb and aching. =p And the latest pic does everything and more to stoke the lust (food, yo) which I can't satisfy until next month.
