Entering On A 90 Day Visa

Featured Replies

Hello I know the question has been asked many many times...

1) So I will ask about my situcation..I am going to enter Thailand on a 90 day visa given to me from the thai embassy in Canada, chances are I will not be staying the full 90 days, But if I do how can I extend it I am married to a thai with 2 kids.

2) If I leave for say 1 month and want to re-enter or even longer is it going to be a problem?

To explane better so you can help answer the question(s) I will be working out of thailand on and off, some times longer away from thailand some times shorter, some times a month away some times 3 months away this I will only know at the last moment and I do have the money to support my self and can show my income per month,

I am also going to build my new home there and condo in Bangkok.

So I am not sure what to do in my situcation,,Is there such thing as a marage visa?

Any help would be greariful , I know when I return to BKK I will go through the process, but it would be nice to have some heads up

Thanks

If you can evidence an income of at least 40,000 baht a month ( or equivalent ) you can extend that Non-Immigrant visa for a year at a time at an Immigration Office in Thailand. You need to apply for a multiple entry re-entry permit to preserve your extended visa. ie always get that permit each year when you extend the visa.

Thanks Doc...My income is not from thailand, it is from a foreign company and I do keep my payroll stubs, other than that is that sufficent for the 40,000 baht a mont proof?

and it is alot more than 40000 baht a month

The normal method for off-shore workers would be to obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa yearly from a Consulate (honorary are best but even full Consulates will often issue). This allows unlimited entry for up to 90 days each time for the one year validity of the visa. No extra requirements.

To obtain extension of stay for marriage you would need letter from your Embassy of your monthly earnings (to prove the 40k requirement is met) and go to immigration with wife and submit a number of documents and then return a month later. Often not possible for people with your schedule - and this must be done every year.

You need a letter from your embassy certifying your income. Best to check with the embassy to see what they require to issue the letter.
