Renewal Retirement Visa Received Today At Suan Plu

Featured Replies

You say you were not asked for proof that your 800,000 was remitted from abroad. On a Friday I was refused renewal as I had no such proof and was told to return on Monday 1 October when I could have a visa without this evidence, which is what happened.

So the requirement to produce evidence of the foreign source of funds has been repealed?

I won't go that far to say it's been repealed but as I said, "The interviewer did not ask any questions about the source of the 800,000 baht". She reviewed my bank book from the periods of Mar thru October 5th, 2007. She returned the original bank letter and kept no copies (which I thought was unusal).

The guy being interviewed next to me also received his renewal - but I didn't pay any attention to his interviewer questions.

Thank you for the posting, Mr. Hicks. I am going to attempt extend my retirement visa at Soi Suan Pluu on Friday. Proving the money is from outside the country is one less thing I will have to do.

The only remaining possible hitch: I live upcountry. We'll see if they insist that I extend at the local office instead of Bangkok.

Thanks again for the info!
