I run a tight ship with the hard disk of my notebook partitioned.

Over the last two weeks I am getting messages to say I do not have enough space on my C: drive.

I run the programme to clear deleted files and recover 1Gb of space.

2-3 days later the same happens again.

This never used to happen.

What has microslush done now????????????????

Another problem that has come up in the same time period, is the slowness in switching from

one desktop application to another. They are all loaded in memory.

I do not use a Swap File. I have 2 Gb of memory and never get

anywhere hear that limit, so everything should be physical memory.

Switching should be instantaneous, but not any longer.............

Have you tried the standard disk clean up found in accessories, system file? The Internet stores HUGE "temp" files on my computer.

1. I do not use IE, only FireFox and it is set to delete cache on exit.

Mind you, now I write that I realise that it may be the source of the deleted files.

2. The files in question are already deleted, but windows does no free the space until I empty the Recovery Bin

I will check out Insights suggestion

Thanks

Astral,

just added Clone Spy 2.3 to the downloads. It's a prog for to find and delete duplicate files. This will helps a bit.

You although need to clean/delete the Temp Files, Cookies and so on.

Progs you don't use more, delete them!

Check in the download section, there several progs for cleaning.

or for .tmp (temp) files simply go to Start, Search, All Files and Folders. In the first box type .tmp

This will find all temp files and then you can highlight and delete them all.

One or two sometimes cannot be deleted but it is only 1 or 2.
