My thai girlfriend had the usual thai nose job (raising the bridge with an implant) done on the cheap at a provincial hospital. This is now giving her trouble - not so much aesthetic as some pain. I want to get her procedure done right this time - with probably a new implant.

I've read through a lot of complicated and medically informed comment in this forum - mostly by, and relating to, farang patients. I am ignorant of these matters and a bit overwhelmed by the weight of discussions and volume of information exchanged.

I'd be hugely grateful for any recommendations of specific surgeons; especially any based on experience - via thai wives or girlfriends. Since such nose jobs are common among thai women I am hopeful of being able to quickly identifya suitable surgeon. I will very much also appreciate any contact data so that I can contact the surgeon for price, availability, etc.

Thank you very much.

easy go to Doctor Greechart at YANHEE or PREECHA at BNH or SOMYOS KUNACHUK at Yoskarn clinic

How about just removing it? Implants bring with it so many perils, that I often wonder if the hassles are really worth it. (Yea, I know, she'll tell me to mind my own business, but I bet she's just as pretty without the implant.)

Appreciate the suggestions. Will try to locate contact data on web/google.

Was hoping someone had a recommendation based on an actual recent (good) experience of a thai nose job with a surgeon.

I agree with you. But yes, she'd disagree - though I might broach that option with her anyway.

Plenty of thai people go to those surgeons I mentioned and though in my case Im not thai but still asian which means suspecitible to the same procedures. I went with preecha.

I know you have done some research on the subject - how would you rate dr witoon against these names for a nose job?

Dr witoon is also well known.

Ultimately you will have to go and see a few doctors see what they all recommend specifically what procedures will they carry out and how will they do it

go to Yanhee and see Greechart or another rhino specialist and then go to Poomee at bumrungrad then go to Preecha at BNH, go to Witoon and go to Somyos kunachak too.

See what they say and how they will do it and what are the expected results. Try and see photos if possible though might be difficult since they need patients permission. Then choose the doctor you feel most comfortable with and price.

I went to all of them and ended up with Dr Preecha though I could easily have gone Somyos only due to the difference in price of 30000THB more with Somyos though method and procedure sounded identical.

Dr Nond at Bumrungrad was my facelift surgeon. ....Answered every every question meticulolusly and actually advised that I do less....rather than more. I am/was/expect to always be so glad I found the perfect professional attitude and skill.

There's no Preecha listed at BNH. ????????

Does anyone have experience of Amorn Poomee for nose job?

yes he is.

Click on medical service then go to bottom and click next and then youll see Preecha Aesthetic Institute he owns it all.

If you want him to do things make sure you request him and make sure its understood you want him doing it.

Thank you, got it.

The Institute is on Floor 7 of BNH. Web site says Preecha might do under general anaesthetic, might do under local. One night stay in hospital and stay in BKK for 7 days. How does one know if Preecha is doing the op? One can be conked out pretty quickly even with so- called local anaesthetic -at least that's my experience.

There is no price given for procedure under local anaesthetic. Under general anaesthetic price is USD 4,300 = Baht 146,200.

Somyas only does at Yoskarn Clinic - yes? Web site says intravenous sedation and can go home same day a few hours after surgery. No info given re cost.

Amorn Poomee web site says will do under local or general depending on work to be done and what patient and surgeon prefer. If local usually lightly sedated and nose and surrounds numbed. One is awake during surgery. Presumably he would do either at Bumrungrad or at his own clinic.

No info given re cost.

Who to go with? I guess it all depends on what one can afford and if one would prefer to be in hospital for a night or more. Wonder what the incidence is of serious haemorrage?

Wanted to check out Dr Greechart at Yanhee Hosptal but got the message that "WARNING - visiting this website may harm your computer."

All the surgeons can do the procedures under local with sedation or general anesthetia. Just depends on how complicated your procedure is and how long it would take.

Most nose jobs of your nature will only take 30-60mins max and hence sedation+local is all you need. Which also means that it would be cheaper if done under local because they and you wont have to pay for the anesthesialogist. Ignore all prices that are given on websites because they are not accurate in this sense. GO AND SEE THE SURGEONS AND GET QUOTES.

Poomee usually charges slightly less at his clinic than at bumrungrad. Somyos does it all at his clinic.

Not many issues etc that can arise from nose jobs and definately not from something as simple as yours. You dont need to be in hospital if its only a local procedure and so simple.

Hahahaha ignore the google message. youll be fine.

I'd like to get going on this. Need to work out logistics for consultations, price determination, appointment for procedure etc. Trouble is we live about as far away as can get in Thailand and would like to compress the initial visits to one or two days. I'll send off emails asking for appointments on a specific day. Also I can't afford to ignore the price aspect.

Is the fact that this is re-doing a previous nose job going to add much to the cost?

Can someone suggest a figure that I could reasonably budget/aim for?

Can someone specify a preference among the surgeons named, and tell me the price - based on experience with a 'thai nose job'?

Would really appreciate practical advice. Am doing this for my gf rather than myself, but would like to be sensible without getting carried away.

Many thanks.

My goodness, you write as though you know me. ??????????? I thought my identity on ThaiVisa was only known to me! For all you SHOULD know I might have the most horrible conker needing all sorts of adjustment and remodelling

mate, you, refers to your GF not you( as per your opening post) and yes her procedure was fairly simple straightforward augmentation and revision would be fairly simple too remove and replace with something more appropriate unless ofcourse they do any other work such as hump reduction, alar reduction, tissue removal etc
