Just back from the Embassy in London, where after advice from the consulate in Hull, it seemd as though a 1 year multi entry was possible on the basis of visiting freinds and family, as per the hull web site. This was, of course, rubbish, however on production of my condo ownership document, I did get a one year, ironic since back in Bangkok had been advised this wouldn't work....I do get the impression however that doing it by post with Hull gets a better reaction than face to face in London.....has anyone else tried to compare???

No NOT rubbish. You stand zero chance of a non-o "friends and family" from London (as you discovered) Hull will however issue just fine which is what they advised, you just chose to go to London instead. :o

Glad you got your visa. :D

I believe I am correct that it was the rules for EXTENSION that changed (removing the "investment" option), it's always been up to the embassy/consulate what type of VISA they issue (within the rather vague guidelines).

When applying for a Non-O on the grounds of visiting freinds and family, what evidence does Hull require to establish that they actually exist?

If you read the visa application details you will find no evidence is required.

thats right.. i'll confirm both Hull & Birmingham will issue Non immi multi entry O's with no proof, just cross the visiting freinds box will do the job

I just got my Multiple Non O from Hull this month (my 2nd in less than a year - last one issued 04- Dec - 2006). :o

Reason I gave was to visit family and friends.

Sent in the usual forms and £100.

Passport Arrived back in 48 hours.

Do you you have two multi 0 visas in your passport?

Did they cancel the first one then issue a new 12 months 0 visa

whilst the old one was still valid?

Yes that is what they should do. I have asked this qustion of Hull directly

Got my passport out....

No. They have not cancelled out the original O visa stamp.

If it helps....

I did 3 * 90 days (well, last one was only 60 odd days as I had some, er, problems and felt I needed to get away from them).

On the last visa I did....

11 Dec 2006 to 06 Mar 2007

20 April 2007 to 16 July 2007

16 Jul 2007 to 12 Sept 2007

Now have a nice, shiny new stamp in the passport. I can scan them both into the computer if you wish to see them. Main reason for posting was there seems to be some queries about people not getting non immigrant visas and Hull obviously had no problem issuing me with another.

Now I have another 3 * 90 days and am due back end of the month to Thailand.

Mmmh - I thought Non imm O visa's either came as single entry or multiple entry. Here you seem to be saying 3 entry non-imm o visa.

Would be useful to see some pics if you'd like to upload some scans or photos...

This is good news. Suppose you own a condo and for some reason you can no longer get extensions in Thailand. Well, you still own a condo, and at the very least you need to go back to Thailand to organize disposing of the condo.
