Touch Screen Input On Handheld Computers

Recommended Posts

I am interested in a handheld translator computer. I found in the net Talking Dict models

CP1 http://www.talkingdict.com/en/products/prod.asp?id=10 and

MD99 http://www.talkingdict.com/en/products/prod.asp?id=4

which use a touch screen to enter Thai or English words: you just write a word on the screen and it will be translated for you.

Sounds great, doesn't it.

But does it work?

I can read/write Thai (and English :o )- the problem is not there, but are such systems really able to read what I scribble on the screen?

Any experiences?

Regards

Thedi

PS: I know, I could go to Pantip and take a look at them. But I live in the sticks, 50 km from Khon Kaen. A trip to Pantip would be a two day enterprise. Both this models are not in stock at Oasis in Khon Kaen. Any helpful comments??? :D

They should have a display and person at most any Tesco Lotus,  I see them everywhere, Sometimes se-ed book stores have them and I saw one at a home pro in the lobby area before.  Should be able to find it in town.  I don't know about the write on type, we have the old speaking model and its handy.  Was not cheep, but wife likes it.
