I think soybean farming might be the way to go in the future. The reason I say this is because of the possible fuel use. I could get about 10 rai of rice land that could be converted. Am I crazy?

Around here some people plant soybeans in January which is the off season for rice so you don't need to convert...just do rice in the wet and soybeans in the winter....of course it depends on whether your fields can be kept dry in the winter..... As to extracting oil from soybeans....it is not practical to do it on a small scale (so I've heard) and that's why you don't hear of people growing soybeans for home made biodiesel.
