Ko Lanta

Featured Replies

Finally getting the chance to head down S.Thailand. Will be heading down either next week or week after.

Have checked out Jai Dee's pinned weather links and looks like Krabi/Ko Lanta have been rather cloudy and stormy lately. Is this fairly acurate? Is it still pleasant enough for enjoying the beach and for kayaking etc (or is it not really sunbathing weather and water too choppy?)

Ive also checked out many cool sights for info on Ko Lanta as well as Rough Guide, but personal recommendations are much nicer. So any tips on what to see or do would be great.

Will be going alone.

Ty kindly in advance. :o

Indeed, tis true. Its rained just about everyday for the past week, and when its not raining, its partly to mostly cloudy. Don't know anything about kayaking, and I haven't personally been sunbathing or swimming lately, but I've seen plenty of other people doing so. Up to you, as they say.

The locals say the weather should clear up any day now, and "high season" officially starts Nov 1, so if you're here in 2 weeks, you should be okay, I would think.

Thank you. :o

Hope it clears up soon.

Itching to get my feet on a beach!

It's raining right now and I'd be very careful about taking any ferry trips as these seas are dangerous in the wet season - ask the boat drivers before travel

May I have a current weather update and some information of the best places to stay? Have a friend heading there.

Still hoping to get down that way sometime soon. Put it off initially because of weather and then because of bad timing.

Anyone can give a quick update on how the weather has been lately please?

I was just there November 16 - November 30 and it only rained one day and one time at night. Otherwise, it was great! Everyone gearing up for high season. You could see more people trickling in every day.

Have a great time. I love Lanta. Favourite island I have been to in Thailand.

Late enquiry but didn't want to raise new post not going until around 12th January.

How is the weather in Au Nang just now please anyone

Hi Scotwumman, I believe it is dry and not too hot with low winds so goos for boat travel. At the top of the Krabi section here there are some pinned topics and there you can see some different weather reports but it should be dry this month

Hope you have fun :o

31 degrees, no rain and slightly overcast, good sailing weather off Ao Nang :o

Thank you seonai my son will be there the week before me, loves the area and having travelled all over

Thailand is between Ao Nang (I do not think I have got the name right ) and Pattaya, which I have heard

through TV is unusually cold, plus he has never been in Pattaya but has many happy memories of Ao Nang

and so I thank you and would be pleased if you would post again within the next three days re the weather

I am not good at reading maps and will take your word for it or any other posters if you have the time
