See... Sliced cheese is not boring at all. :D Learn something new everyday. Now lets talk about why sandwich bread always comes with an odd number of slices. :o

Oh if you are going to get into the deep and serious stuff, about cheese and bread, then I will withdraw my suggestion, that topic is bound to come up ( as in regurgitated :o) one day anyway. I will just wait.

Could combine a topic about farang & sliced ham. :o

Talking of boring thread, this one certainly qualifies. :o

I bet you don't close it though!

No need to.

Boredom is not mentioned in the Forum Rules. :D

OK, so there I was with my #2 mia noi, hoping to catch the baht bus. In my "man bag" I had a slowly fermenting block of the finest cheese known to man (and woman) kind- Mainland Cheddar Masters Vintage. The situation was becoming desperate....just then a soul-less zombie, who I recognized as a serial TV poster, stumbled past me, gave us a glance, and said: "Hey you guys need a ride?". He tossed me the keys to his SLK parked at the curb, I slipped into the drivers seat, and as AC/DC's "Highway To hel_l" started to blare from his million baht sound system, I pulled out into the dusk traffic, and punched it..... :o

Easy Rider :D

Stilton rules, O.K. True Blue Vein, never mind that Cheddar that you mentioned :D . Much better Cheeses around the world than 'Mainland Cheddar Masters Vintage". :D

Kan Win :o

Yeah, I know...just trying to provide a little live entertainment. A good Danish Havarti, Royal Stilton....the list goes on and on....

I guess the point I was trying to make (re: boring on General) is this: We don't have to be boring. It is amazing sometimes that with a smattering of humour, a little bit of literary flight of fancy, and a generally positive attitude- how much you really can say. I truly enjoy reading all the posts here, and I like all of you- The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. We have a great community of people here.....

Nope, Cobalt60, sorry you don't win the kewpie doll prize for that one.

IMHO, the reason so many threads on here are boring is:

1) No humour (mentioned before)

2) No literacy (mentioned before; neither in content or spelling)

3) Excessive negativity (mentioned before)

4) Repeating topics that have been absolutely done to death a million times before.

5) Excessive whinging about how Thailand is not like good olde Suffolk, or Los Angeles or Melbourne (see #3 above)

There are so many things here worthy of celebration....sometimes I just am more than a bit befuddled reading some of these tragi-comic posts from some dear fellow who is at his wit's end with the buying of the 7th buffalo, etc. :o

This is not Paradise. No place on this Earth is. But it sure beats the heck out of a lot of the places I've lived around the world in the last 30+ years.... :D

OP clearly doesn't visit the Pattaya news forum ....

How can you call these topics boring??

"German Steals Bmw At Knifepoint"

"French Man Dies Apparently Of Overdose Of Impotence Drug"

"Rescuers Rescue Austalian Man In Pattaya Sea, Wanted to swim back to Australia"

"Jellyfish Attack Farang In Jomtien"

"Drainage Cover Attempts To Eat Thai Lady"

and last but most certainly not least: "Eerie Transvestite Visitor Causes A Stir, Always lock your bedroom door at night"

OK, sorry, i will try harder and study some more.

I feel the problem is that everybody is on the defensive all the time, due to the crowd that drag up the same old sh-ite and dress it up in a different way to start a keyboard warrior session.

It just goes round and round, I am sure you know the topics off by heart now, without the need for me to highlight them, I have only been on this site for a few months and I have worked it out very quickly.

So i find that a great deal of thought and caution has to be applied before saying anything or starting a thread, to try to avoid the flamers or the TIT,s or the ' go home if you dont like it crowd' or the ' dont dare say anything bad about Thailand' mob.

It can be like walking through a minefield.

But then again there is always the 'what the f***, I am going for it' attitude if you are that bold.

Makes it hard to inject a bit of humour really if you are treading so warily.

Anyway, my girlfriend is just back from college and its time I went to the post office to get my WWII war pension, cya :o
