A better solutions in to use OpenDNS:

i tried but found no way to configure my TOT modem/router.

What is the make and model number of your router?

When I received my modem from TOT, I got a Surecom EP-4704SX-A \A2 (E)

If your modem is the same, I can probably help you. If not, maybe I can still help.

thanks, i'd appreciate your help very much Apex. my TOT router is "Thomson ST546 V6"

You could try this: ST546

Not sure if this is what you want. Get back to me if it isn't. Which application do you want to set up port forwarding for?

no application at all Apex. let me repeat that i am a heavy internet user BUT i don't download films/videos (except some music once in a while), do not play any games and got from the bits and pieces distributed here the impression that portfordwarding / openDNS might improve my connection. obviously i was wrong and if improvement is not the case i don't need no portwarding nor use any openDNS never no more under no circumstances.

by the way, i hate the guts of people who complain on ThaiVisa about thai ISPs, slow connections and tell me in the next sentence how they use their connections:

"it says 97 days 15 hours to download the latest porno movie called Snowhite gives blowjobs to the seven katoeys".

I would say that your set up is fine for whatever you do on the Net.

With regards to people complaining about Thai ISPs, I really only have experience with TOT regarding ADSL, and they have always been good to me. I have little trouble with download speeds or poor service. My only complaint might be that it took them 27 months to send the first bill (=27,000 baht + VAT) !!!

Ways to circumvent blocked websites are not to be discussed on ThaiVisa, are they?

It is against the rules to give information on the forum on how to bypass the government website block.

Please refrain.

betfair.com resolves to 203.146.43.133 when using a Thai nameserver, and resolves to 212.62.21.228 when using a foreign nameserver like opendns.

This shows that Thai nameservers are configured to be authoritative for certain domains, and these nameservers are providing wrong and misleading information.

I would say that your set up is fine for whatever you do on the Net.

thanks Apex, that's what i needed to know.
